Description

I wanted to do one more dedi before Christmas: It's for Wolfenshire (Wolfenshire), one of our very best writers. Embarrasing as it, I do precious little reading these days. I'm not proud of that (gasp), but when I finish writing, I find it hard to read another tale---and it could be Hemingway, Faulkner, the Grimm Brothers, you name it: I become a literary hermit. As a result, I've been way slow with Wolf, for which I apologize. But I try to make up for it by leaving him marathon comments, which I only hope he can get through before 1) passing out, 2) reconsidering the path of his life, or 3) ordering me off the site for literary torture. So, briefly put: I think Wolf is such a sensitive, fine tuned, heart-ful and inventive writer. He goes way to the heart of his characters, makes them so full and unapologetically human---well, they're only 'part' human many times, but they're human no matter what life-form they come from---he gives them so many of the traits we can't define but which make us all so rich, and he weaves them into chapters packed w/ delight, the most delicate revelations, sometimes tenderness, sometimes terror, and so often moments of sheer wonder; he writes with long mythic arcs through many ages and civilizations, which he sustains in ways I can't fathom (I have enough trouble with one tale's arc---arcs don't come easy to me!): But his substratum is life, life, life, filled with a child's sense of awe and an endless sense of wonder. Grazie, Sir W, I remain ever grateful for your offerings. (The visual felt like his work to me...don't know why, but it felt that way to me...) ------------------

I’m currently taking a Masters level writing course and the further I get into the lectures, subject matter, and assignments, the more I realize I haven’t even scratched the surface of what it is to write. Some of my stories are successful and some flop, but all have been an enjoyable experience to create. When I see a review like this, I have to wonder why I’m not on the Best Sellers List. 😁 Though, it does make the countless hours pounding out a story all the more worthwhile. I thank you for the incredible review, especially coming from a writer such as yourself that seems to so effortless write with an eloquence that easily matches that of the great storytellers.

Wolf.

A perfect dedication to a master storyteller, Mark! The imagery flows in and out, twists and turns, goes from light to dark and back again - just like Wolf's wonderful stories!

It's only been fairly recent (in the last year or so) that I've discovered his works, and he's hooked me and reeled me in like a perch after a worm.. I see his posts pop up in my notifications and know it's time for a cup of coffee and a good read - much like when I see your stories pop up.

Excellent as always!

I like the soft pastel colors in this. The way the colors melt into each other is pretty and delicate and yet very deep and orderly. It's a grand dedication to a grand writer; his stories are always fun and imaginative and unique. I enjoy reading his stuff.

Splendid interpretation of colorful topography as seen from high above in another one of your sensitive dedications to individuals I've been unaware of, Mark. The name Wolfenshire reads like the character of a British novel. Or maybe a hero from Norse mythology. In any event, he sounds most talented. And, I don't read enough lately myself. Painful, brainwise, you know.

A mesmerizing trip into this artistic world of color, light, shape and texture. And a fitting tribute to the imaginative fantasy world created by Wolfenshire.
