Description
The stars known today as Castor and Pollux have been associated with celestial twins by many cultures. In Babylon they were the great twins guarding the gates of heaven. In the western tradition, the twins (Didymoi or Gemini) are seen as the children of Leda and represent change and duality. They are ruled by Mercury, messenger of the gods and so have an affinity for air and speed. They are also associated with tiger's eye, lily-of-the-valley and the colour yellow.
To get the lily-of-the-valley motif in, I re-coloured a photo of a piece of Liberty "Tana Lawn" fabric in paintshop to create the dress mat. The tiger's eye gems are luckily already included in the EmmaAndJordi armbands.
