Description
A view of the housing estate called Zapadny (meaning 'western', because we're in the south-west of the city of Rostov-on-Don) I live in on a warm April afternoon. Thank you very much for viewing and commenting so warmly on my previous about March. May you and yours all be well protected from the virus and other dreadful things the summer sun will blow away soon.

Your palette knife work (digital, but it still feels likea palette knife) gives this housing estate a jittery, energized, dancing effect, like the molecules in the facades are all dancing. As always, you do a dialogue between light and shadow, it's very intense and expressive: I love the shadows on the road and in the darker sections of the estate. So the image looks like it's emerging out of a deeply shadowed day. You're very intuitive at this, the way you treat a photograph. I could never even conceive of such treatments----this is so insightful, and I can't explain how. You just reveal a lot of inner essences in the way you treat a photograph.
