Description
Hildegard von Bingen (1098 - 1179) was one of the most accomplished Europeans of the midle ages. A Benedictine abbess, she was a musician, writer, philosopher, mystic, visionary, and polymath. She is one of the best-known composers of early sacred music, and is considered by many to be the founder of scientific natural history in Central Europe. She has been venerated as a Saint by various sects of the chrch for centuries, and was created a "Doctor of the Church" (only the 34th one in history ) by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012 before he retired.

Excellent lighting, love the warm colors.

Compositional brilliance and a clinic on lighting's impact. Love the ambiguity (dawn or night's approach?) of the window light. The phenomenal light/shadow interplay gives the scene equal parts moody, atmospheric, mysterious, dramatic throughout its entirety. And her outfit is pitch perfect. Even if I were so inclined, and I'm not, there is nothing to nitpick in this flawless work. Well done, Joe :-)

excellent classical feel to this composition and render, the quality of the textures really comes across, love the chair; the only thing i would suggest is to consider the overall strength of the lighting from the candles/oil lamps, turning them down a notch might give more authenticity

Oh' this new image is very nicely done, love it a lot, I wish you a good start into the next week and please don't stop to be vigilant!
PS. Hildegard von Bingen is still a unique phenomenon in German history. Her God-given visionary charisma makes her appear to us today as an exceptional theologian and universal scholar. Man, environment, body and soul, according to Hildegard, everything is in constant connection. For this reason, especially in our time, her valuable writings can be an important contribution to a new understanding of life, nature, environment and salvation of the soul.
The wise founder and director of a convent has already been venerated by her contemporaries as an ambassador of God. Remarkable is the extensive literary work which Hildegard left us.
Fantastic looking Tribute for such a wise Soul!
