Description
This is an NPC for a friend's D&D game. She was meant to be bland, boring, generic, which means the party totally fel in love with her. One of the characters wants to marry her. Typical D&D stuff. I decided to do a portrait, as my way of thanking the group for letting me join. Also just because I needed an excuse, llol
Description I was given: "She's a purple-skinned Tiefling with black hair and purple tips, with a Gothic look. Not a HARD Gothic, but, you know..."
She sells potions. That was literally her purpose to the story. Now she's traveling with the party with her wagon as we search for her friend.Half the party are werewolves, and my character is a bunnyfolk samurai. (Yeah, it gets tense with thee full moon. I sleep in a tree)
I ended up using a veil because I couldn't figure out how to hide all the clipping that comes with combining hair and horns. That's pretty Gothic, right? Hopefully not too hard? Lol. My buddy is still at work so I don't have his feedback yet.
I should really put on my glasses. Please excuse spelling errors. I'll fix them later.
I rendered her twice. Once with the HDRI, and the wagon behind her. Once with just the sun-sky with transparency. Then I just laid one atop the other, like so. I think it helps her POP nicely, and it is an pretty simple/effective way to light her up. Renders quickly, too.

Thanka. I'm working on MKII right now. The veil was "too shady."
Ended up changing the horns and hair. I'm liking the new version, though I personally like this one, too. Apparently it was "too goth." Lol.

LOL at your description. I miss playing RPG's. As to the two versions, the draping of the veil thingy looks really good, but I prefer her without it.

I consider it my little way of contributing to the insanity. After all, harder to make her "generic" if she's got a custom portrait!

Lol, yeah. I think I'm going to use the veil with another character I've got. Maybe I'll play around with that tomorrow.

I think she is anything but bland boring and generic. She looks to me to be someone who is carrying around a lot of deep secrets. She also probably has many aces up her sleeve.

Thank you. I figure its fun to show the work sometimes. In this case, most of it was done while streaming my screen to my friend. He went to bed before I added the veil. Then I got his feedback, made the changes, and ended up at MKII.
