Shout out to Madbat for watching the stream. (twitch.tv/lylearyn) The color temp of the lighting was a great call.
No, I don't expect this to top my last one, lol. I don't think I'll be topping "Embers in the Rain" anytime soon.
I just picked up Naia from fastgrab, and decided she wouldn't wait months to enter a scene. I wanted to do something more steampunk, but there is a serious lack of airships in my runtime! So we ended up here. I think once I've located a nice airship model, we'll go to the top of that staircase and do another scene with her. So this one I title "SEA Pirate Naia."
I've been working on my own RPG system for some time now (read: years) and I'm getting ready to start running some games with it.
Since COVID, the plans I made for in-person games shattered, so now I'm trying to come up with some visuals for hosting games online. The setting I'm working on is fantasy, gothic, steampunk. With Noir and Retro Sci-fi elements thrown in. EVENTUALLY I'll have a Sky Pirate version of this. But it was nice to get Naia out to get familiar with her.
Not looking to WOW anybody, just need a nice portrait style that is dynamic _enough._ So players can start injecting their own personality into things. The system itself is setting agnostic. It's being written with the explicit purpose of being suitable for the whole range of adventure settings. Hence my hodge-podge setting I'm building as a test.
So. Thoughts? Are you is there enough personality present for your brain to start "reading" the picture? What do you see? Feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Can't take 100% credit. Madbat suggested going warmer with my spotlight. I was headed towards cold! It certainly has that morning-fog flair!

She looks successful, rich for a pirate, better dressed than most and clean! I like the choice of traditional pirate arms, and the slightly less traditional bird (looks a bit like a falcon?).
Nice depth, just enough clarity on the ship in the background... I wonder if that's hers, or is she about to steal it?

Aw, yes. It's a Martial EagleI found over on Hivewire. I should have mentioned it! I have a parrot, and a toucan, but for some reason she seemed the sort to have a trained eagle.

Think it will be ok when I redo it in steampunk though. She'll be in my Sky Pirate crew. Probably as the only one that can swim, lol.

You did a great job with this character. She could easily be either a hero (or antihero) or a villain. The bird raises poses some interesting options as well. Is it a familiar? A pet? A messenger? There are a lot of possibilities here.

Thanks! I'm partial to the bird, too. One of those last-minute decisions that tied the whole thing to together.

The RPG sounds interesting. This is a wonderful character and you did a fine job with her. Very nice lighting at work here to. Well done. Funny how PC's seem to be in the works. i am in the same boat. If you want to trade some info give me a site mail. i can point you at a few I am looking at. Are you going to custom build or buy ?

Oh, I'll be custom-building. I tned to get more for my money that way. Especially once you factor in video cards. Especially nVidia video cards. This system is an AMD CPU, but I'm considering Intel for the next. I haven't had any problems with the CPU and GPU butting heads, so it will depend on price. I don't think it will make much difference to Daz, and today's games don't really care, either. Pretty much, I'll be budgeting for the best video card I can afford, and building around that. I also want a lot more RAM this time.

The RPG has been a long time in the works. Trying to finally put all that work into play. Got one person interested, so we'll see how much hype I can drum up in the next few weeks. I still got some setup work to do on the discord.
