Description
With the "Lola Pepper" set being on sale recently, how could I resist? Now, I was going to convert the whole thing to G8, but I decided to give an old girl a chance, and set out to set up a V4 to join my Sky Pirate crew. The shaping morph is "Forest Daphni for V4." The ears stuck through the helmet, but luckily they could be removed. I think if I show her without the helmet, I'll re-add them. A little chocolate elf girl engineer just sounds fun. However, Sophita practically wears her helmet to bed!
Skin came from the lovely Grace for V4. It had a bump map! I wish it had a normal as well, but overall, it's really nice, considering the age. (Sorry, sugar, in digital years you're ancient.) A bit of work adding SubD, and upping the bump map a bit. And, of course, converting to iray. Converting everythin to iray. For once the converter tool worked without a single hitch!
I rendered it a couple days ago, but then realized there were too many buttons. *TWO* too many, if you catch my drift. No matter, I used it as an excuse to get out more shaders, converting almost all the metal surfaces using "Old Metal for Iray" and "Old Metal Shaders." A bit of "Vintage Enamel" on the bottom of the thruster to top it off. I didn't want to lose the rivets, or the other patterns, so I left them alone.
Set is "Claustrum Iray Add-on." I used a "Darkest Nights" HDRI, along with a single spotlight. Added a few emmisives to the goggles and prop-pack, just to give it that something extra, and VOILA!
Smoothing was added to the clothes. There wasn't any poke through with the pants, but after adding it and SubD to the shirt and helmet, I decided to go ahead and do the rest. This way, she'll be ready for future renders with minimal fuss. (At least I hope.)
I find it interesting how older V4 sets her on Renderosity tend to be higher-grade than older sets on Daz3d. Just something I noticed. This set, by the way, is fantastic! So glad I pulled the trigger on it.
Now, as to the character herself. She's Sophita. She likes to say, "Trust me, I'm an Engineer." And yes. The dynamite on her belt is real. If you hear her maniacal laughter from the bowels of the airship, run for the Captain!
Later today, I'll be setting up a new gallery to hold these all. Something just for the game. I'll also be prepping to add them to the Deviant art page. I really got to get my banner over there sorted... Ah well.

Should be an interesting group shot once I get them all done. Left is the crew's medic and a deck hand. I think folks will get a kick out of the medic I have planned.

Thank you. I may be doing an open recruiting further down the road, when I'm a little more sure of the system, and my own GMing skills. It's been too long, and I've grown a lot. Also learned a lot of what not to do from other groups, and picked up a few tricks along the way. This character, also, represents crafting in-game. That particular part of the system is just barely a sprout of an idea, but I hope Sophita here will help me expand on it.

As an Engineer myself, I love this frisky one. As we went into thermal or environmental testing on products I would always say..."Relax, what could possibly go wrong." To which I received the standard groans and spitting of recently swigged coffee. Well done and a lot of fun.

Thanks. And yeah... There's this funny Youtube video/song called "Trust me, I'm an Engineer" and it sorta inspired the personality of this character a bit.

All while playing with something that looks suspiciously explosive.

I really like the look of this one! The lighting, is often the most important part of an image and you have done a splendid job here! I would not want any trouble with her and her explosive belt buckle! The green glow is a very nice touch and I like it! Excellent and very well done! :-)
