Description
Continuing the story; in the moment when the curse befalls her for gazing out of the window, her mirror shatters... I've rendered this scene before in DS3 (you can have a look at "the mirror crack'd" in my shareCG gallery sharecg(dot)com/share.php?upload_section_id=1&upload_type_id=1&upload_id=78898 if you're interested), but this is a more dramatic version using Dogz's "Shattererd" for the broken glass (needs a fair bit of patience to get it looking good in iray, but handy nonetheless).
She left the web, she left the loom,
She made three paces thro' the room,
She saw the water-lily bloom,
She saw the helmet and the plume,
She look'd down to Camelot.
Out flew the web and floated wide;
The mirror crack'd from side to side;
"The curse is come upon me," cried
The Lady of Shalott.

Both glass and expression a very well crafted. (And it is one my favourite songs by LMK, only surpassed by Allsoul's Night)

Excellent interpretation of the poem.

You have created a glorious scene--POV , the lighting and the breaking glass are really well done. Her pose and expression bring to "life" the Lady's anguish and fear.

Poor girl. very well done on the composition

Fantastic work here, Joe! That shattered glass is an amazing touch. One of my favourite poems ever, and one of my favourite paintings ever too (Waterhouse), and you've done such an amazing job depicting the bits of it we usually do not see. :)

Thanks Bella; waterhouse also painted "I am half sick of shadows", which is less well known but equally lovely. My real test will be to do the next one with the boat, without borrowing too heavily from the master.

This is really good! I can't really add any more to what everybody else said. Excellent work.

Oh wow 😳
You have done an amazing job.
The shattered glass and reflections are gorgeous.
Her expression is a sign of terror and the fear of the unknown.

Beautiful scene! Very well done, love the expression, and yes mastery on the broken glass! Question... the gown... where did you find that?!

Thanks rkasparek. The gown is from the "Princess Alex" set by Val3dart over on DAZ; its an old v4 item i retextured using iray velvet fabric shaders for this picture. The set also includes armour and a cape

The metallics on the head circlet - exquisite metal! Wow! That one item, puts all of my metal mats to shame. 😢

Thanks :) I just used the built in iray gold shader for that; i think a happy accident of the lighting picks it out more than usual.
