I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

Great stuff!
Yup, can't seem to get on with 3DL, I just end up reverting to iRay. This is awesome though, makes me think I should persevere...

Setting distant lights instead of spotlights made a difference. I think the skydome is why the shadows aren't working. It's odd, because usually it spend a bunch of time figuring out the shadows before it starts to render. I've checked. Everything that should be enabled to have shadows is enabled. There are sahdows on the figure. But the ground? I think they're there, just really faint.
So. My excuse for the purpose of the illustration? It's a video game. She turned the shadows down for performance. Yeah... we'll go with that.

A thrilling battle scene with them. Great action and expressions.

Thank you very much!

Thanks!

I get it. Lighting can make or break a picture. I've had art sit on my computer for months trying to get the lighting right. Love the action sequence. The character of BoxyFox looks really awesome. Good Luck with the story
LyleAryn
Thank you. Yeah. The shadows on the character are really nice, too. If I figure it out, I'll just re-render. Not like it takes long with 3DL.

Fine action scene! Excellent posing and effects! Love that lion!
LyleAryn
Awww yeah. I think he turned out well.

Yeah, it's a screen shot from the game - I can go along with that! 👍👍 Either way, it looks great! Super work, good sir!
I'm not much of a gamer myself, but if the graphics looked this good, I could get into it!
LyleAryn
Thanks! Yeah. I think it's going to work out just fine...

I hope that sword doesn't break on the stone lion!
LyleAryn
Yeah. Gotta love video game logic! Thanks for the comment.

Excellent composition. This is a beautiful image!!! 👍🙋♂️

Thank you. It was much fun. The setup took much longer than the render. Or at least, the second render. I found out that if you have iray shaders loaded on a lion's mane, and run 3DL, it wants to take FOREVER. But. Once I loaded it back with 3DL shaders... It was pretty quick. Lesson learned!

Nice Action Scene.

Great action scene and characters!

Thanks. Can't wait to show her next outfit. In-universe, she's been prepping for this particular level-up. It's a level when you start to be able to use adaptive gear. Going to be fun showing off the outfit Lola has next. Maybe I'm due to just straight-up do a portrait of the character.

Goodness! Such a lot going on! This really pops! Gorgeous work!

Great dynamic scene! I have to admit though I'm a fan of Iray. It does take forever it seems at times but I normally like the results I end up with. We all have our preferences, I'm just glad we have the choice :)
LyleAryn
I prefer iray as well. Needed a different look, though, for the "in-game" illustrations for my book.

I'll buy the fight scene, but that big cats not real. No way, This scene has obviously been through Photo Shop to put the big guy in.
