I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

Love the mood in this image. Now wonder what she plans on using that toad sticker on?

The lucky ones.
The unlucky ones get lit on fire.

This one is better, so I'd say you've learned a thing or two. :)
LyleAryn
Thanks, and I agree! I love the reflection in the window, and the way the sun catches in her hair. Gives her life that the other didn't. Plus, I've improved the base model by quite a bit. So THAT'S awesome.
Have a nice dayl

LyleAryn
Thank you traces. I trust you are having a good week?

Would make a great movie watching these images render? No. I wouldn't last! LOL! Beautiful character and marvelous presentation! Most excellent creation! Now 3-D print her out and lets have a party! I think she will be the life of the party!
LyleAryn
I would love to 3d print this. Thanks for the comment! Always a pleasure.

Nice render, and yes, with that kind of soft and dim you get a lot of fireflyes and noise! Doing all only on CPU (as I have to do it too, since a certain Daz update that requires OpenCL 1.2 and my older GPU just supports OpenCL 1.1) it can take ages to finish such a render. Therefore I was really surprised, that my last render (caught on the open sea) which is rendered 6000 px wide just took about slightly over 1 hour to finish. But there you are: I just had a single direct sun light, which renders way faster (especially if there are no indirect lighting effects, where the bouncing light rays have to be calculated).
LyleAryn
Thanks! Makes those new 30xx GPUs look even more attractive, huh?

Super work Lyle, really well posed and lit. Would say more but I'm typing one handed with a cat on my lap!

Beautiful portrait work, love the lighting my friend.
LyleAryn
Thank you, my friend. It was challenging to decide where it needed to come from to "make sense." I think I did all right. You have a lovely weekend.
romangirl
You did an excellent job on this portrait!
LyleAryn
Thank you! That means a lot to me. Not much point in doing a rework if it isn't actually any better! Have a good weekend.

she's nice, great hair
LyleAryn
Thank you. That's "Fanta Sea" hair. It's great, and once you've got Mesh Grabber, maneuvering it around elf ears becomes so much easier.
Faemike55
Bloody outstanding work on this scene. She looks fabulous.
LyleAryn
Thank you very much! bows

this is so amazing ... the image resolution is impressiv ... this rendert a long thime ...
LyleAryn
Ah, yes. It certainly did! But I feel it was worth it. Because this will print up at 30x45 centimeters NO PROBLEM! Thank you for your feedback.
gaius
She's a beauty despite her ears ! 46 hours ? My goodness, you're patient ! I stop any render at 2 hours...
LyleAryn
Thanks! And yeah, luckily I had no other urgent need for the computer, though it does make me want to get a second machine up and running as soon as I can. For the BIG projects.
ikke.evc
Very nice. I like her very much. ;-)
LyleAryn
Thank you. I'm so glad!

wonderful portrait
LyleAryn
Thank you! Hope you are having a fantastic Sunday!
RodS
Very lovely redo on her. This version does seem to "pop" a bit more - she looks a little warmer, and more 'alive.' Great job on this, good sir!
It's quite revealing sometimes (most times, actually) to go back and do a re-run of previous work. You've illustrated that fact beautifully here.
LyleAryn
Aww. Thank you. I think I must have done well - 29 comments and counting! Most I've ever gotten was 31.
I've loaded a few old scenes up for some reason or another, and had to shake my head, trying to figure out just what I was trying to accomplish. Some might even be worth fixing. One in particular, i can remember getting really frustrated by the lighting - and now I know the headlamp was on! No wonder. Just might have to redo that one at the very least!
I am humbled by your kind words, Sir RodS
Madbat
A sword belt!!! Where did you get that!
LyleAryn
That is from the Renaissance Sword Pack. Sword is from longsword for Genesis 3. I adjusted it to fit. It has adjustments! Thanks for being comment number 30! I don't know why that makes me happy, but hey. I won't knock anything that causes joy these days.
