Silo looks around until he can see Red floating off into space. He quickly determines that by now, Red is out of reach of his rope. Lordy lordy! What to do? What to do? Come on Silo! Think! All this while, Red is floating further and further away from the ship. 'Don't worry about me.' trills Red. Maybe if you can get the ship working again, you can come looking for me?' he says in an almost forlorn trill. Silo takes action. 'Dang it, I won't let this happen to Red, even though we have had our differences since we met. I've gotta do something!' and he disconnects his safety rope and turns to face the direction Red is drifting. A few quick short burst from one of his thrusters sends him floating toward Red. But he miscalculated and shoots past Red. He quickly activates a reverse thruster which slows him down. But he is using up a valuable resource. One more very light burst from the correct thruster gets him headed back in Red's direction. This time, he is able to reach out and grab Red by the arm. 'Oh thank you, Silo! I so hated thinking of spending eternity out here in space never to exercise my circuits again. Thank the maker. Okay, lets see about getting back to the ship!' he excitedly trills. There is a prolonged silence from Silo. 'Come on!' trills Red. We are still drifting away from the ship. If you don't do something now, we will never make it back!' 'I'm sorry, friend, but that last maneuver used up the last of my fuel. I hope you can forgive me. I did try to rescue you.' Silo moaned. Meanwhile, Jake and Jorge are going crazy on the ship. 'Good Lord, isn't there something we can do?' asks Jorge. 'We can't just let them die out there!' 'If only there were something.' says Janax. 'Hmmm. What model android did you say Red is?' 'As I recall, he is a Z44 but one day I got a closer look at his ID tag and it said he was a Z44-XP. Does that mean anything to you?' asks Jorge. 'By golly. That just might be the ticket. Now if only I had access to the technical manuals I might be able to come up with something. We know Red has surprised us already with his hidden enhancements.' Just then, Jake speaks up, 'Well, back before I teamed up with Silo, he used to work in a droid factory that produced among other things those Z44 units. Maybe he remembers something about them that might be helpful?' 'It's worth a try. Gotta ask him before they drift out of radio range.' Janax raises Silo on the intercom and asks him, 'Do you recall any special features on the Z44 models you used to work on when you were employed in that factory. Jorge just told me that Red had an addition to his model name. He says that Red's ID tag says he is a Z44-XP. Does that mean anything to you?' 'Well, off hand, I can't think of anything. All those drugs I've taken recently haven't done my mind much good.' says Silo. He signs off and begins thinking. Wasn't there something special about the Z44-XP. What was it? What was it? Oh my god! He thinks. If Red got that enhancement, it could be our salvation....Silo suddenly remembered! Hidden deep inside some Z44-XP model's armor plating, there was a hidden self propelled hand held emergency recovery rocket booster. If Red had one of those, they could possibly get back to the ship! Only one catch to this idea, Silo must remember the secret password that unlocks this secret compartment! 'Red. Are you hiding any of your enhancements?' and he tells Red about his suspicion. Red says, 'You might look at my ID tag. There might be a clue there.' Silo turns Red around and shines his helmet light onto Red's ID tag. There sure is a lot of fine print on this thing. Sure wish I had a magnifying glass.' 'Here you go.' says Red. 'Just happened to have one up my sleeve.' he trills in a feeble attempt at a chuckle. Silo almost loses hold of the glass but quickly recovers it. He starts reading the fine print on Red's tag. Even with the magnifying glass, it is still almost too small to read. Meanwhile, they are drifting further and further away from the ship. Red is beginning to become a little despondent as he contemplates having to lose Silo as they both spend eternity in space together. 'Got it!' exclaims Silo. He mutters some incoherent series of words and before Red can sputter or exclaim a trill, a small access door pops open in his chest. It reveals a bright green blinking button which hopefully has good meaning. Silo pushes the green button and a thruster jet followed by a hose pokes out of Red's chest. There is a valve on the jet nozzle. Silo knows what to do next. 'Hang on, Red! We're going home!' [Many thanks to JohnnyM for the idea of the hidden thruster in Red's chest.
