BIO I'm an illustrator, and for the last 15 years I have been doing almost exclusively digital work--mostly covers for e-books and small presses; fantasy, SF and Paranormal Romance covers are my specialty. I use Poser, Photoshop and Painter, and a nifty little paint program called ArtRage. I have been lucky enough to have work shown on the BBC's The Sky at Night, done promotional artwork for the Hugos, and have digital art tutorials published in Michael Burn's Femme Digitale and Digital SciFi Art (Watson-Guptill 2004) as well as DVD covers, cd covers and e-book covers, most recently for Liquid Silver Books, Edge/Tesseract and Dragon Moon Press. I'm also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. . When I have time, I do acrylic paintings for fun.
Commissions: I do 3d texturing and backgrounds now rather than book covers, and I do appreciate a good UV template to work on. Thanks for checking out my bio!

Get well soon! I am glad yours is a mild case, one of my friends is asthmatic and when she caught the dreaded Covid-19 of course she went into the ICU. For two weeks. Even once she was out she was ill for another five months, but the good news is she is well again.
Learning the peculiarities of modelling for Poser is a tricky task. For the hat that came in with bits missing, check the groups in the modelling program, if it has groups. If it doesn't use groups internally check the export options and see if it is exporting some parts in separate groups. For a Poser prop everything should be in just one group. Also check that the export options aren't exporting some parts as separate objects, that will confuse Poser no end.

Ahah I bet it it was a grouping problem! Thank you for the tip! And I am glad your friend is better but whew, that was a rough time!

I am so glad to hear you are on the mend. The hat is so cute and i know you will get it all straightened out. It is a really fun hat and I bet you would like someone to find you a real one. I'll look around and call some people I know. Maybe I can get you one that fell off a truck.

Good luck to you and your loved ones, good healing, good job

Yup, Daz is much friendlier to 3D models, which is probably part of the reason so many have switched to it. Nice hat though!
Good to hear you're recovering, and I'm all for writing off 2020 entirely, and starting over. Not only has it been hideous in terms of the virus, it's also quite succinctly highlighted the general stupidity of the human race, what with unfounded conspiracy theories, Trump, and, in our case, Brexit (the worst thing to happen to the UK since... well, probably ever, other than COVID). Not really sure why so many Brits still think we're an empire....
lwperkins
You are an empire of talent, not geography! I hope Brexit gets sorted in the best possible way for you; maybe just blue passports and the rest mostly stays the same. Regardless, you will always be a cultural force in the world! And thank you too!

Once you do work out settings that work for you between hex and poser guard them with your life!! I have mine written in a book so I can look them up if I lose them as it can take forever to work them out again. So sorry to hear that you caught the virus but I'm glad to hear you are on the mend!!
lwperkins
I have some written down but I accidentally deleted the obj that worked for La Femme morphs so I have to create a new one--I don't know why Poser is so fussy! Some things like posing are so wonderful, and other things are so hard! I wish it was easier to make clothes for it.... I would make shoes all day :D

Looks great!

Thank you too! I should drag it out and rework it...
