Description
Hi everyone.
I'm sorry I've been absent so much...I just finished the estate-settlement for my sister's passing, and I am just exhausted. I also had other responsibilities, and even tried to send some writing out (to publications), but I was too tired to finish. I just need time to rest. My lawyer said it takes a year to settle a messed-up estate, so I don't feel too bad that I managed to finish in 6 months. But with so many shut-downs (due to covid) and the unbearably slow US Mail, man, it was like walking through molasses. And, buried in all that was a dear loss, which I can finally sit back and feel.
I'll add that if I see one more document, or "letter testamentary," or get one more call from a billing dept, I'll shape-shift into a gigantic robin and fly away. Somedays you wanna march into an office, run around like Groucho Marx, and say, "next time I run into you, remind me not to look..."
Listen, I know some of you had surgery, some of you had covid, some of you had huge fatigue, financial problems, work problems, home/house problems, and on. And some of you lost loved ones. I know it's not been a glowing time...
So let me wish you all the very best healing and strength in the world. I hope that the rest of the year will be so much better than what came before. And, in the next week or two, I'll comment on all of you. I may only be able to do 3 or 4 in each of your galleries right now, but I'll give you my best. I'm moving like a snail right now, but I'll get to you all. I've seen everything, however. That I can promise...
Take care and stay well everyone! I'll be visiting you all soon, peace, health and love, mark
(the image is messing with 2 photos...the photos are mine, though you've seen them, like, a million times by now...)

The images seem to mirror your mood of fatigue. But, isn't that what art is supposed to do? Save your strength and just be well, comments are not needed and can in themselves be exhausting to keep up with. Stay well.

hey mark, these are way so cool of manipulated photos my friend. glad you had some time to share these impressive variations from the original capture. the lowest one is really my favorite even though it is not like other two. each one with the vibrant colors sets different moods. keep up the cool work my friend. god bless you. sorry about your dear sister, I know you've had a lot of legal battle. I'm getting my first shot on Monday, hope now ill effects. and hope the most best wishes for your health Mark.

Hey, Mark, rest and think of yourself, you deserve time to yourself, comments aren't necessary on my stuff.
Top photo: the green haze is cool but also a bit toxic, I'm not surprised that it reflects the past year for you. The middle photo is warm and healing and the toxicity of the first image is almost gone... a healing of the home and the heart. The bottom image, when I first scrolled to it, I thought, "Oh, the city has sunk! Yay Atlantis part 2, how cool!" LOL! It's a stunning sunset, the colors are peaceful and the lighting is calming. Those clouds are magical. It's like the healing is complete. Give yourself time to heal, my friend. It's been a long, hard ride. Stay safe. Good luck with shot #1.

Hey Mark! Good to see you and your art. Take care, be well.

When I saw the thumbnail, I didn't even need to read the name - I knew it was you, bro! It has "Mark!" written all over it. And I also think it well reflects the F###-ed up year (and a quarter) you and many of us have had. The first panel with the toxic greens and yellows against the Wind City speak for many of us as we say "Enough!!" The middle layer with it's calming reds, magentas, ans blues are the emotional middle ground as we collapse, exhausted, and attempt to rest our minds, bodies, and just try to make sense of it all. And the third panel is all about hope as we reflect, like the sunset, and resolve to move forward - tomorrow is another day...
i do hope things are calming down for you, Mark. You of all folks deserve it.
And.... After careful consideration, and personal research, I can say with some semblance of experienced authority that this "getting older" thing inhales copiously.
I think the backyard squirrels are trying to get even with me... They apparently fired up their Acorn Computers (the squirrel equivalent of Apple, don't 'cha know) and contacted their buddy Rocky Raccoon - with a request to enter my attic and run laps at about 0500 AM. I've been awakened by the pitter-patter of little feet the last 3 mornings... Always something...

Dear Mark, it's so good to hear from you. As always, your photo manips are wonderful and distinctly say "Mark." As others have noted, they seem to tell a story, one of a dire and depressing situation and eventually leading to a welcoming calm.
I can only imagine how difficult these past months have been for you, and I'm cheered to know that things have more or less settled down. I have finally recovered (mostly) from my bout with Covid and will be getting my second vaccination in a couple of weeks. Do take care.

Beautiful series of images. They are charming and wonderfully colorful considered one by one, but you feel the series has an extra message. I read it almost as a new sunrise on the place where you live, maybe a new sunrise in your life? a new restart, beautiful and positive? I hope so and I wish you a beautiful and new future that leaves behind you every bad thing you talked about. an affectionate hug!
