I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

I'm assuming this is a wrap cover? You may need to leave more room at the top or bottom for bleed and typography, but it looks super--I love the gigantic starry sky behind her and the sense of quiet.

Yep. I'll have some more camera adjusting to do to get it just right. I'd like to learn how to make the text on my covers look better, but for now I settle for legible. Since I end up doing everything 100% myself, and have to rely on the print standard I'm given through Amazon.
Still. I think the new cover is a step in the right direction. I've had some good feedback on this, too.
Thanks for commenting!

Thank you. I think I'll call it "Down, but determined." Not that anyone will ever know the title of the art, lol. (except you guys.)

Looking really good!

It's looking really good. It's fun to go back and re-do stuff you've done years ago, just to see your progress. I can't believe some of the stuff from my early days - even the first couple chapters of TNA.
Anyway, this is very well done. The dark surroundings contrasted with the light of the fire really gives it an air of mystery. I like it!
LyleAryn
Thank you. I've still got to do a B&W test to see how it will end up looking on Kindle devices, but I think I've got enough contrast for it to work. Progress is an amazing thing to see.
