A wonderful, very fun scene. The books and fabric textures are all so rich together and the lean of the cat is it’s final punctuation. !!!

i just luv this. I love the character first of all, because he's part punk, part old court jester, part thoughtful guy, part guy who looks like he'll get up---after reading---and join his punk band pals and play at some punk bar, w/ screeching guitars and pounding bass...I love his crimsons, and those great pants and unmatching socks, and his posture. You flooded the piece in books (I actually tried to read some of the titles---I can't not look at these things, they're always so compelling.) I love the pile to his left/our right, and how the lantern balances on top of them. And the hour glass back there---like it's ticking off his time left on this earth...and that great blanket strewn like a gigantic set of plumes. And that cat---love how it leans into the pic like it either wanted to be seen and leaned in at the last minute (before you uploaded it); or like it's checking to be sure no one in the audience has illicit schemes in mind. I don't know how you do your light either, but this has a real 'corner of the library' light, dark with intense light and shadow, and an intimate feel. Delightful, Barb. And there's your signature, nestled into the spine of a shadow-laden book. (Always a treat to find where you sign your pieces...) I just love it. Even his shoes are a riot. Great imagination. A wonderful holiday season to you and all your loved ones, and I hope 2022 is a much better and more illumined year for you, and for your mom and everyone else. I've so loved walking in your world; and all you've given me in walking in mine. Stay well and healthy!

Obviously anyone in the know, knows, cats rule and don't you forget it, silly human! If they want attention, it is always on their schedule! Not yours! LOL! A truly marvelous and wonderful image and most delightful viewing pleasure! Many fine kudos from me on this wonderfully joyous creation!!!!!!
