Description
Had to do another one of Krystal, this time wearing the Ballad of the Bard outfit. I’m not sure why it’s called that, but Krystal insisted that she should be holding a book, and who am I to argue with someone whose outfit references the Bard?
It took me ages to find the right backdrop for this version of Krystal as well. I love the toon figures and even used a bunch of them to create the cast for a story project many years ago, but it’s so hard to find sets that look right with the toons. Cookie (my first toon love) is the cutest, but Krystal is the prettiest!

Fine image.

Very cool character and outfit, great colour,, love the bookcase, superb variation as with little finger, subtle and small simple touches, the sort of things that just add another level to a image...top work..!!

Thank you for such kind and observant comments!

I like this one nearly as much as the steampunk image featuring Krystal. I'm really going to have to work up the nerve to try using some toonish characters in my renderings and stories. Thank you for sharing your work!

Thank you, Molly! These toons are pretty old, but I've seen some morphs being planned for Dawn 2 that look pretty promising as a way to get toon features in a more, ahem, "modern" figure! Maisie is also cute (and vastly under-used), and she comes free with Poser :-)

Fantastic scene :) She looks adorable! I wonder what book she is gonna read?
perpetualrevision
Hmm, well, I'm gonna say... it's probably not a Danielle Steele :-)

This is nice, it looks like a snapshot from an animation.
perpetualrevision
Yeah, it does, kinda! I wish I had the patience for animation b/c Krystal might be fun to work with (though the figure isn't capable of the variety of expressions I'd want). Thanks for the comment!

Wonderful character. reminds me of the old still motion movies they put out at the holidays when I was young
perpetualrevision
I can see that! Krystal does have that kind of look. If only I had the patience for animation!!

Krystal is lovely & the Bard outfit is great! You certainly found the perfect background to complement her!
perpetualrevision
Thank you! I'd never used that backdrop set either, so digging out the toons has helped me make use of other stuff in my runtime too! I love books, so this certainly isn't the only bookish scene I have, but it's a good one for portraits and I thought the style wasn't a bad match for Krystal!

Lovely scene!

Is she looking for a book of spells? She is quite the perky and wonderful character! A most charming illustration! Bravo!

i bought Krystal this most recent Septembre because i've tried every other [human] toon & toon type character over the past 5 years, and for me, Krystal seems to have filled in the gap i've felt forever quite wonderfully. she rides right on the fringe of toon, but can far more easily be inserted into scene sets like the one you chose than any of the others - fun challenge to find a balance, yea? ;)
and obviously, she surely must have grabbed, um... some Poe!! yea, yea, that's the ticket! [muffled sniggering]
perpetualrevision
How fun to have a new (old) toon that will fill a gap for you! I like Krystal a lot, and she has some lovely clothing.
Hmm, Poe. Yeah, she could be reading Poe! Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it's not a "grocery store novel" :-)

Very nicely done and meaningful..

It seems like Krystal art was everywhere when the model made its debut (can't remember when). It's really good to see you using her.
