Description
In this one, Dina from 'The Last of Us 2' takes cover to avoid unnecessary confrontation with Dutch Shaefer and his friend Betty, who still can't believe there were Predators before the outbreak. For now, she's quite fully occupied with chasing down stray bandits and looters. If captured, Dina would deny that designation as technically she's on a mission of revenge...
In all another scene that took me longer than it would another with more skills. Kept the palette towards late afternoon with one of Orestes's skies as I recall a lot of the game took place at that hour. Probably should have stuck with instinct and lengthened the exposure while intensifying the environment further for more contrast between outside and in. Added assets were typically aplenty but laid off the textures as I sorta liked the ones 'out of the box. Dina probably could use a pack....or maybe an RPG.

very cinematic and exciting, the evening light comes across nicely with the fait highlights, very well crafted indeed
jdwtrxk
Thanks paul - was fun mixing stuff to sorta relive a game.

Thanks starship!
Radar_rad-dude
A very dark and dramatic scene full of tension and grim forebodings! Very well orchestrated! Bravo!
jdwtrxk
True radar - not a lot of fun in the apocalypse. Sorta interesting that gamers, readers, viewers, renderers and writers love to imagine surviving the end of days, but their characters would love to be anywhere else....

Wow, JD! I love it. I suppose there could have been more contrast between the dim interior and the brighter exterior outside the window as you note but what you have done is VERY effective. The cracks in the window are a very interesting detail. The feeling of gritty, urban decay is palpable. I'd give it more than two thumbs up but am limited to the normal human allotment of thumbs. =D

Thanks Molly - the cracks came with the laundromat setting. Otherwise it would have received some broken, grungy textures. Was fun to get back in the game - need to do more. Been a lot of sales lately...The Last of Us universe has a lot of interesting possibilities and the available game-rip characters blend well with other assets - even Arnold.
gaius
It looks like a sequence in a movie, a good one, I mean. You're right, gamers are ALWAYS talking about the end of the World or of the Universe ! A big bravo fort his powerful image.
jdwtrxk
Thanks gaius - the game universe I sorta used is quite brutal...
eekdog
looks like some heavy action about to begin. well done..
jdwtrxk
Thanks eekdog! Dina certasinly hopes not - her little 9mm won't put up much of a fight against two full autos and an attached grenade launcher. Not to mention Dutch....
PhthaloBlue
Wonderfully composed scene - great work!
jdwtrxk
Thanks blue!
Richardphotos
outstanding fight scene and composition
jdwtrxk
Thanks Richard - was fun!
kharnes
That dirty black bag, another :) I just saw it.. An interesting perspective, so what comes to mind.. Very good work.
jdwtrxk
Thanks khames - was a lot of fun having played the game. Could of put a lot more trash and whatnot in the scene to emphasize the forlorn setting, but thought it might clutter things up and stretch the runtime.
MagikUnicorn
Excellent scene!
jdwtrxk
Thanks Magic!
UteBigSmile
Your new image looks fantastic once again(full of mystery and great use of the props)!
jdwtrxk
Thanks Ute - your comments are always appreciated. Thanks for the4 note on the pirate in your post. I need more buccaneers!
bakapo
A dark and dangerous scene. Very dramatic.
jdwtrxk
Thanks bakapo - poor Dina is of the same opinion :)
BellaDark
I love how you've composed this and how it seems as though the viewer is hiding behind something and spying on the scene. Really effective. Wonderful gritty atmosphere too. Great work! :)
jdwtrxk
Thanks Bella - actually removed a bin where the camera is to set up thy shot. Pretty good spot to hide :)
longprong
Always wanted to check out 'The Last of Us' but only had pc gaming...........didn't even know about a sequel 'The Last of Us 2' Intense scene and very atmospheric.........and very well done
jdwtrxk
Thanks longprong - I was slow to play TLOU2 as I didn't have a console available in Florida. Jumped on it right quick when I came back here. The game universe is gorgeous but quite brutal...:)
