Description
As Sammie called out to his creature friends, an entirely different creature took note of -- and offense at -- Sammie’s choice of dinner food!

I was closing the scene for "I Brought Dinner!" when it occurred to me that I might like to do one more image with the forest setting. Mush was obviously not one of the creatures I tried out as a potential pal for Sammie (b/c he’s not a cannibal!), but he’s an obvious choice for a creature that would be rather displeased to learn that people are actually eating the mushrooms in his forest! I wasn’t sure when I’d ever have a use for Mush, so I’m glad I came up with one :-)

Thanks! I thought he looked cool in this environment too, and it also enhances his creepiness, b/c Mush does not look particularly friendly, no matter how much you make him smile! It's those teeth, I think. And those eyes. He's an interesting character, for sure!

How true! I have some plant creatures (like Nursoda's Mandragora) who'd probably object to anyone pulling up root vegetables to have for dinner, as well as some trees that might "scream" if you wanted to eat their nuts or fruit. So yeah... when you're trying to fill your belly, someone will always be displeased! :-)

Let's just hope that Sammie didn't accidentally pick any of Mush's relatives to offer his pals for dinner! On second thought, he probably did, which explains Mush's menacing mien :-)

"[C]reepy in a very compelling way" is a good way to describe Mush! I don't normally go for figures that are primarily meant to be menacing, but something compelled me to get Mush, and perhaps one day I can figure out how to make him a little less threatening. Might have to do something about those pointy teeth, for starters! Thanks for the comment :-)
