I'm just Molly. Mrs. Mike was my ID for many years when I modeled for my deviant husband, Mike B. It was Mike that introduced me to Poser.
I have modeled in real life a bit. My introduction to 3d imaging was through making pictures of my adventures in Second Life and over the10 years I've been learning Poser and making Poser pictures. In real life, I am a near completely retired health care professional and a full time grandma. In my digital life I am a Second Life heroine, a Second Life villainess and here and at Deviant Art I'm a budding 3D artist.
My next big project is to learn Blender.

Lovely Molly. I can see Tempesta's textures in her face and the outfit does look great. One might think the character as a whole is to bright but I think that was the whole idea....:)

Thanks, JD. Tempesta3D is one of my go-to content providers. I intended to make the costume very bright, as though rippling with energy, just as you surmise. Too much? :-\
I considered lighting the scene solely with the costume but didn't like that it washed out the character so much so I toned that down and upped the environmental light.
Always learning and always loving to hear from you! =)

Heh. I did enjoy her pouty, stern expression, Kellie! XD

fantastic render

Thank you, my dear. I was surprised how well the materials rendered in Superfly without any tweaking. =)

Thanks, Steve! It's easier to make a good rendering when you have GREAT content so much of the kudos goes to Tempesta3D, ShaaraMuse3D and good ol' RPublishing. XD
I always enjoy chatting with you! <3

Thank you so much LMD! =D
The materials really rendered well and since I tweaked them not at all a lot of the credit goes to Temesta3D and Shaaramuse3D. =)

What a cool character, and the outfit's glowy textures look great! Are you saying that the textures were set up for Firefly but you rendered in Superfly instead and didn't mind how it came out? I'm thinking maybe the outfit wouldn't have been so shiny in Firefly but produced an interesting effect in Superfly? The texture on her shoes is particularly interesting: glowy and semi-transparent, so not a metal, but not anything of this earth, either! Neat glowy fx, too :-)
(Why does my spellcheck say glowy is not a word, when it so obviously should be??)
MollyFootman Online Now!
First of all, glowy IS a word! So sez teh Mollz!!
The materials for Space Queen are set up on a Poser Surface Node and therefore are (in theory) going to look best in Firefly. As you know, some Firefly materials look fine in Superfly and some.... not so much. XD I was planning on tweaking these to get a rippling, energy effect but it turned out that nothing needed be done to get that. I expect they would be a bit less bright in Firefly, I may experiment with that just for shucks and grins.
The texture on the dance slippers (I forget where I grabbed them to add to the costume) is simply the texture from the main suit copied and applied. The whole material set is translucent but it's most obvious on the slippers where the individual toes can be seen.
I think there's more retro science fiction fun to be had with this character. XD

Excellent use of all the elements, outfit, character, setting and effects. Our dear Tempesta will love this!

I sure hope she does! <3
I got this the second it came out as I had asked Lory to port it from DAZ to Poser and she was such a sweetheart to do that! Then the days went by and I had so much else going on that I didn't get to making a picture until now.
I'm so pleased you think it came out well. I think this character is a keeper and will show up again; maybe in a story of her own! =)

I think you chose well to p the environmental light. Costume might be a little bgright but not excessively for the purpose. Keep up with the creativity!

Thank you, my dear! I really enjoyed working to get her costume to emit light as though crackling with energy. =)

Wow that's fantastic!! It brings to mind a modern Erte.
MollyFootman Online Now!
Thanks, Annie! I have to admit I had to look up Erte and having viewed images associated with him I now see the Art Deco kind of look to this pose and composition. I wonder if that influenced Tempesta3D when she built the content? It didn't consciously influence me but.... =)

Oh oh! She has tapped into quantum energy! Don't mess with her! A beautiful and strikingly dramatic Queen and a totally fantastic image Molly! Great posing and setting and superb effects really make this image rock big time! Many fine kudos from me to you!

Very cool retro style sci fi character, great pose and scene...love the luminescence of her body...very nicely done.. great energy effects, interesting idea you wanted to light the scene with just her as the light source....one of them, lots of trial and error scenarios...think the emission of light from her is just right...just need to gently start knocking back the external light source until you achieve the desired effect...yeah it's easier said than done, lovely work always a pleasure...!

Thank you for some advice to try, DG! I love your stuff (I'm where some of the 'likes' and 'favorites' come from) so you can bet I have made notes! XD I may try some trial and error lighting and if it works out, you'll see it here and you can take some credit for helping teh Mollz! =)
Darkglass
The Dome Light creates a virtual dome of lights around the scene producing a flat, even illumination over surfaces similar to photos taken on an overcast day. could be a place to start...

Thanks for a more detailed explanation. It helps as teh Mollz is always learning! =)

a delightful space fantasy with the light treatment, Molly, reminds me of some of the small sea creatures that have a florescence about them (that must be the alien part); like the way she floats in the air too, much more fun being able to do that :)
MollyFootman Online Now!
Thanks, Paul. I see the resemblance to luminescent sea creatures now that you point it out. =) I figure that the alien creature can manipulate energy such that she's able to "fly" and generate energy fields or plasma balls as weapons. As always, I have a backstory at least hazily in mind and some adventures for her. I don't know that I'll pursue them. So many ideas and so little time... >.<

RodS
Amazing work on her, Molly! We could use her help here!
MollyFootman Online Now!
Thanks, Rod. I think there's a reason that superhuman heroes have always been popular: things are always a mess and it seems beyond mere humans to clean it up. I would say it's the worst now than I've ever seen but that would be forgetting all that went on when I was in College (Summer of Love, Vietnam War, etc, etc). We'll get through without the Space Queen but it's a lovely fantasy that she'd take care of the villains for us. =)

Excellent sci-fi image, and it looks like she could be a superhero! Love the emissive glow on her outfit and the magic effect!

Yes, I see her as a Science Hero (combination of science fiction and super hero). I'm kicking around some more story and picture ideas. It's lovely content, to be sure!

Effects.... affects.... it drives me nuts! >.<
My favorite part of the image is that none of the FX (see what I did there? XD ) were postwork; all were accomplished with emissive props within the rendering.
Thanks for the comment! I really enjoy hearing from you, LP! =)
