Description
The State Hermitage Museum, St Petersbourg, Russie.
Marcel Duchamp said that "the viewers make the paintings" to insist on the fact that the meaning of a work does not belong to its creator or to experts, but to the public who encounters it. I start a new series with the concept that "the painting makes the viewer". I take as a subject of study, the behavior, the feeling of the viewer as a mirror of the work. Quite quickly, the metaphor of the pregnant woman came to me, to suggest that art gives life to a part of our interiority. I will place, in each image, this symbolic character of a hyper receptivity, facing an off-screen painting. The blurred background refers to the reverse shot of this painting in the exhibition room as it is presented in Google Arts & Culture / Museum explorer. Accessories and the name of the artist placed on the bra will be additional clues for those who want to discover these paintings much more admirable than my images. Good visit.

I did not know that Rembrandt was on display at this famous Russian museum. I enjoyed visiting the museum virtually and I certainly enjoyed your image!

Zeus as the shower of gold... doubly meaningful with the expectant mother. I remember admiring this when I was in Lenningrad many years ago.

I have, in fact, conceived this fertilization of the soul of the visitor in a certain order. :)
