Description
__ The "Centre National d'Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou" (otherwise called 'Centre Beaubourg') is a giant, futuristic arts center located in the old Beaubourg district of Paris. President Pompidou conceived (1969) the idea for Beaubourg, as the center is also known, to bring art and culture to the "man in the street". It was completed in 1978 by the architects Renzo Piano of Italy and Richard Rogers of England, and by the engineering firm of Ove Arup and Partners of England. The structure forms a huge transparent box whose exposed frame of tubular steel columns carries trusses spanning the width of the building. External mechanical systems -- elevators painted red; escalators in clear plastic tunnels; and giant tubes for air (painted blue), water (green), and electricity (yellow) -- all are conspicuously placed outside the main columns.
__This photo was taken on part of the roof of the Centre Beaubourg, which is dedicated to various contemporary and modern art sculptures. In the distance is the Montmartre basilica, also famous for its district of painters, considered more popular and less 'arty' than those at the Centre Beaubourg!
__ Thank you very much for your visits to my gallery and comments on my earlier Liestal Carnival captures. I've been away from the site for quite some time, yet I do wish you a nice pleasant and artistic Summer week, away from heat waves, drought and flood

Nice wide shot of the rooftop. Hope there's a good rail around it. I've got a thing about high places.

An amazing architecture. My first impression was that the building was incomplete. However, after a second look I realized that is an outdoor part of the building. Cool!

Isn't it interesting all the beautiful things we miss if we don't travel this wide world...Thats why artists/photographers like you are so important! This is a fabulous image and I enjoyed the history, here people grow gardens atop the buildings but I don't recall anything like this...its glorious, thank you so much for sharing! and for your visit to my work:-)

Excellent travail! Je te donne ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My apologies for not viewing this sooner...just have not been around much lately. This is such a beautiful and captivating photograph you took of this museum as it captures the essence of the above structure projected onto the reflective floor below.
As always your skill for framing this well composed photograph is outstanding in every way my friend! :-)

Sounds and looks like it would be a most interesting place to visit. In particular I'd really like to take a walk in that glass walkway to the upper left of the image. I'm sure the view from the walkway would be breathtaking. Pity there's no way I'd be able to travel anywhere at present...

This is quite impressive!
Nice to see you back!

I'm familiar with the Centre National d'Art (etc), oddly more via music than art. (I studied 20th Century composition, and studied Boulez among other such composers, as well as using the resources of IRCAM, which is connected to the Centre, right? If not actually in it? I've not been there, I only know it from study...)
Your view is so compelling...first because your light is dark and brooding, the greatest light coming from outside the structure. Then, because of the play of lines and surfaces---intended by the architects, I'm sure. You capture what I'm sure is one of many very rich views of these lines and surfaces. And your light brings out the mystery in its shadows. And then, because of the view of Paris itself, almost a town set-apart, in this view. It seems like a medieval town, from this view. Your angled pov is wonderful...A wonderful capture of deep shadow and muted light, along with line, form and angle. It must be a very rich experience in person...

jolie perspective et une superbe vue en arrière plan
