Description

Pixie and Lena continue their day out together. Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered with Poser 13.0.449 using the Superfly Cycles X rendering engine. Some postwork was accomplished in Superfly and some in good ol' Photoshop. The separate images were then mounted as a graphic novel page using Comic Life 3.5.21 and are also uploaded here for those who are interested in a view of them unobstructed by speech balloons and the like. Pixie is based on Project Evolution One and Lena upon Ali's Bela. The city is the work of TruForm and the parking garage is the work of BlueTreeStudio. For my friends who are not English speaking the dialog follows after the break for easy use with translating software. ---------------------------- Dialog ----------------------------------------- Narration: Not too much later the girls load Brooke's little car with the results of Lena's shopping spree. Pixie: I'd say you're gonna be looking very stylish, Lena! Lena: Am so grateful to my little Pix! She knows where to shop! PANEL 2 Pixie: One of my areas of expertise is knowing where to get value for your dollars! Now we're going to head out of downtown to a cool part of town called "Olde Village" to have some lunch. Lena: I put myself in your capable hands, Pixie! Pixie: Excellent! You'll like the "Olde Village". PANEL 3 Narration: Unknown to the two girls in the tiny car, a dark SUV follows them as they head out of down town. PANEL 4 Agent in Black SUV: Don't follow them into the garage. Just circle the block until they come out and we see where they're going next. PANEL 5 Lena: I remember this parking garage. Is where my brother parked yesterday when first I meet you at coffee shop where you work. Pixie: You've got a good memory, Lena. If we walk a couple of blocks West we find the coffee shop but We're gonna walk East, toward the River and the Bay. "Olde Village" is a district that has a lot of what you might call Old World charm. PANEL 6 First Agent in SUV: There they go. I'll stick with the car. It's your turn to tail them on foot. Second Agent in SUV: Roger that. I could use to stretch my legs. Keep your ears on coms but I expect to meet with you back here when they return for their car. First Agent in SUV: Copy. I'll check in with ops to report. I'll let you know if there's a change in plan. #VladlenaB

Thank you for such a sweet comment, Alaine (Hope I got your name right! I love your content). I suppose one day I should try another posing/rendering program but I am still figuring out all the cool stuff Poser can do. I am a very old dog and those new tricks.... XD

Don't worry, I am an "old dog" too" and for my 3D models and their textures, I use two old software : both are 23 years old. Alain ( without "e") but it's not important.

Your technique is constantly evolving! I love the reflections on car windows: they look like real photographs!

OK, girls..... A quick tip from some other girls... 😉 You've gotta keep your head on a swivel at all times - especially when a black SUV shows up behind you and goes everywhere you go... Can't be good!

This is great, Molly! I'm loving your techniques, and layout - very professional! Looking forward to the next page.

Hey, I'm an old dog too (and getting another year under my belt in a couple weeks..). Nothing wrong with using Poser. I've been using it mostly for the last 12 or so years, and it's come a long way from P-8 that I started with. I have used DAZ, and hope to get things sorted with my DAZ machine soon. I've been using Photoshop since version 4, I think..

Now to get back to my own bit of a story! 😉

I'm with manni - the reflections look great and add a depth to the comic style you don't see very often. Layout is wonderful as always.

Thanks for the comment and validation that the extra rendering time is worth the result! =) I am getting better with layout and have studied it a bit using some resources by Will Eisner. Graphic story-telling really interests me!
