Description
~Gargoyles Demona~
In my first image for 2024, I am back to redheads! This is my homage to Demona from Disney's "Gargoyles" TV series (1994-1997), voiced by "Marina Sirtis" (concealer Deanna Troi from Star Trek TNG). She starts as Goliath's lover, but soon develops her own story twist. This is an incredibly underrated TV series (plus comics and a video game), and so dark that it's unbelievable it was created by Disney. It goes from medieval Scotland to nowadays New York city, spawning across a thousand years of history. Goliath, the protagonist, was voiced by the one and only Keith David Williams with his signature deep voice. Pose and camera set in Poser, rendered in Stable Diffusion, postwork in PaintShop.
Some curiosities about the Disney series:
1. Disney didn't animate it. It was animated in Japan (Tama Productions), China (Jade Animation) and Canada (Nelvana).
2. The writers came from "Batman: The Animated Series".
3. Many of the voice actors came from the Star Trek franchise. For instance, the mother of the main supporting character was voiced by Nichelle Nichols (ST:TOS's Lt Uhura), and the villain was voiced by Jonathan Frakes (ST:TNG's William Riker). Six other Star Trek stars have voiced other characters, including 2 Star Trek captains: Avery Brooks (ST:DS9's Benjamin Cisco) and Kate Mulgrew (ST:Voyager's Kathryn Janeway).
4. The third and final season (Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles) is not considered canon by the vast majority of fans, and also by Greg Weisman, the original creator. Weisman later wrote a "Gargoyles: Clan-Building" comics series meant to be the canon continuation of the story after season 2, published by companies like Dynamite Comics.

Thank you! It had a similar adult dark tone like "Batman: The Animated Series", which isn't surprising since it had the same writers in the team. What was really surprising was how Disney was doing something like this. But it was Disney from the good times. :)

It's astounding how many beautiful characters there are, from TV-series I have never heard of. LOL Demon or not - she's beautiful.

Hehe that's no wonder, considering Disney tried to bury the series after being criticized for it being too dark for children 30 years ago. Maybe it was, but I am not child, and I loved it! BTW, Demona is a gargoyle, not a demon. She got that name because of her violent killer nature. I took some liberties on the character style (as usual), but you will instantly recognize her when you see her in the original cartoony style. 😁

Thank you! This was one of those old Disney shows that was a "work of love". From the creative designs of Greg Weisman to the awesome writers from Batman and the voice talents from Start Trek, they have created something truly unique. ^____^

Loved this series as a kid and agree, under rated. Superb look you have created for her and Happy 2024 :)

Thank you! I miss the days when Disney knew how to write good stories. ^^
