__ ...Here are a couple of photos I took two weeks ago, only a few yards from my home in a neiborghing forest on a hilltop from which the view around bears very far when atmosphere pressure is low, making it possible to see the Vosges mountains, the Jura mountains, the Swiss Alps and even the Mont-Blanc , over 300 kms away from here though!
__ Why call these photos 'glimpses' of winter? Simply because what was like magical and beautiful then is now already gone, as the rain quickly turned the snow, and this wonderful ocean of frost crystals into cold puddles of dark rain water. Winter has not said its last word yet, but before what we now call 'climate change' , the falling snow would stay and build up for weeks running in this part of the country. The times they are a-changin' !

Oh! C'est vrai qu'avec le changement climatique on en oublie combien l'hiver est une belle saison. Merci de nous le rappeler avec tes jolies photos. These are beautiful winter pictures. The land looks amazing in a blanket of snow. I am more of a fair-weather person. Not to cold not to hot. However, the photos look like they were taken on a clear day. Very nice!

Many apologies for my late arrival:) I am still grieving my kitty so have not been on...but I'm glad to view the beauty you have captured here, I detest snow with the exception of the lovely winter gowns that cover the bare branches and bushes. We are having a weird winter here too, one week snow, next week rain...will be an interesting summer I think...Yes times are a changing, sadly...I've been watching a science program with episodes from all over the world, many changes not for the better...Your photos are as always lovely and I always enjoy what you write, thank you and belated Happy New Year to you and yours...and thank you for your kind words for my kitty:)

Beautiful winter photos. We had an ice storm a couple weeks ago. Was housebound for a few days since driving or walking was near impossible. Luckily we didn't lose power.
