Description

Alternative title, "Alamosarus On The Move". I've been told this model isn't accurate to the evidence about the Alamosaurus, but it's still a cool looking dinosaur. I think it's very cool that we can also get the models to make images like this with all the period-correct plants in our scene, some from "the other place" and many from right here on Renderosity. I recommend the products credited below and any other plants from Dinoraul, and I wish he was still with us to make more. Rendered in Blender 4.0.2 with the dinosaur figure ported across from DAZ Studio using the Diffeomorphic plug-in. The Hell Creek Modules were used for the scenery, along with the Mesozoic Plants pack and the plants credited below from good old Renderosity. And the star of the show is the Herschel Hoffmeyer Alamosaurus, of course... The Alamosaurus was a late Cretaceous dinosaur common in what is now North America from roughly 68 million up to 66 million years ago. Only a few remains more than 40% complete have been found, but so many partial skeletons have been found that there is a reasonably clear picture of the complete skeleton and the size of the creature. They grew up to roughly 26M (86 ft 6 in) in length and would have been pretty scary even to something the size of an elephant. In spite of their size they were hunted by Tyrannosaurus Rex, as several skeletons have been found with the distinctive T. Rex tooth marks in them.

Well yeah, these beasts were plant eaters but could easily kill you by accident as they wandered through the landscape. As for the T. Rex, well, did you know there is some evidence that they may have hunted in packs? As if one wasn't scary enough...

All I can think was how the ground must have shaken as they walked by! And how much they must have needed to eat!

They would probably have shaken things up a bit if they were in a hurry, that's for sure, though I expect that they walked fairly quietly for their size if not in a rush. Heavy impacts on the ground might have attracted any Tyrannosaurus that were in the area, so too much noise might be a bad idea...

Thanks for visiting!

Oh, and it is thought that most of the biggest sauropod dinosaurs spent most of their day eating, so yeah, they did need to eat a lot.
