Description

Test of waves made with Terragen + WW plugin. Yes, the water reflection is quite high .. to emulate some of the surf also. Unfortunately I do not think it looks like realistic surf at the coastline .. maybe more like waves that suddenly stiffens and turns into white rock formations just before hitting the coast :-) Well here it is anyway. Comments are welcome

That's some excellent water, even though I'm not the biggest fan of the terrain or surface. Excellent anyway!

Those waves look like wawes, and that it is not so simple with WW. Excellent work (one more...;-))

Beautiful waves. I try and try but never get so nice waves. In 8.44 it was better for me. But in 8.68 I have many problems with it. Excellent work.

Thank you very much for your comments, I did not set ratings on since I regard it mostly as a ww test than a finished picture and needed some feedback, also maybe on how to do it better. I am happy and surprised by your positive feedback.

eponceThanks E, glad you like it.
XR666Oh, so nice words about the water, you are very kind C. Thanks for the wow :-)
SoundChaserAlso excellelent from you, thanks! Somehow the surface became very dark and strange and the terrain a bit pointy, especially against that bright sky. Also maybe I might have overdone the color corrections a little ;-)
ISSEThanks for your comment on the water (and picture) Ismael.
TopsiderI am overwhelmed, thanks :-) Ha ha ... until "water splashes". Hope to see that someday in TG or WW, and also that at that time it will be possible to make even bigger waves.
christianflyYou have such a good way of saying it: "Those waves look like waves". Thanks :-D You are right it takes some work to get to look resonable ..
DotthyYes, this is with 0.8.68. It seems like it has a loot to do with the underlying terrain, the placement of the camera combined with the lighting. I tried different settings but, ended up with very close to the standard settings using only Hight Ripples (scale value 1.000) and Sorta Surf (Breaking Deapht=3, Surf Pattern=2, surf Density=100, Frothiness=70, Reflectiviness=100).

"Hight Ripples (scale value 1.000)" ??? Does that show an effect? I play always with higher values, because i thought the "1" is standard (it's like a factor of multiplication for the wave height) Shitty to explain in my ugly english, sorry ...

Topsider: Oh.. you wrote another comment (your english is not shitty ;-). Interesting!! I am just making some furter tests after your comment.. (I did try different for the Hight Ripples, but maybe it was the Sorta Surfa that did it all in the end, I have to check. Thanks)

Yes, Hight Ripples, even with scale value 1.000 has an effect :-)

Xabre: Thanks.
riddleboy: I am glad to hear you think so :-)
Margit1: Glad you think so, still not 100% realistic but the best I could do with WW. To be totally realistic I think we need some "Splash" (like Topsider has said) or some postwork to simulate it.

EoinArmstrong: I missed your comment here. Thank you very much. gattone_blu: You are very kind. I was about to remove this old render because the waves are not that good imo. But since you like it I will leave it a little while longer :-) Thanks
