Description

Spent a couple of hours on Sunday doing this as a glass test. It would be remiss of me not to credit seraph135, a 3DS Max artist, for the idea behind this image. Saying I borrowed from his render in that app would be an understatement - I've blatantly copied it, but his image was so cool and inspiring that I thought I'd try to recreate it in C4D as an exercise for myself, as I've still got so much to learn. I was quite pleased with the way the glass turned out in the coloured candlesticks. Rendered with a key, fill and backlight plus an illumination map overhead, though it wasn't used for HDRI (just for some nice reflections)

Hey!..That looks familiar. Nice job. Those specular highlights are making the glass look a little plastic like. Try making them much smaller and with a tighter falloff. Looks good though.

I recognized this immediately as one of seraph135's renders. Very good of you to give him credit! I might suggest finding an alternative to using the fake HDRI as your lighting. The reflections on the objects are a bit confusing. It does look nice though!

hard to say - it'S lookin good and if I would not think about it, I would say it's glas, but now I know it's a render and then I feel it's not so natural ... hard to say with glass, isn't it? I think it's possible that glass can look like this .. yes :_)
