Description

Woohoo! Hair AND clothes in the same pic! Next, I tackle backgrounds! ;) Those of you who are paying attention may have noticed that I'm supposed to be at work right now, but 'unfortunately' the hubbie has the car, so I can't get there until this afternoon - shame, huh? So, brushing aside all thoughts of housework (again), I returned to my current obsession! Hope you think she was worth it!

You know young lady, I am positively delighted to have stumbled across your gallery and to have added you to my 'Favorites List', for now, not only will I never miss seeing your lovely work, I will get to witness the progression of your skills as an artist. It's such a shame you were unable to get to work this morning, and that you force us to view this your most recent image. I hope hubby realizes that this is all his fault - fortunately for us...lol. The painting of her clothes is expertly done Jo - your hair of course is flawless. I can hardly wait to see you accomplish backgrounds as well - for I know they will add another dimension of pure class to your work. This is top notch and a vote for pure elegance in the Hot20.

I have but one thing to offer; I'm very impressed with how far you've come in such a short period. This is beautifully presented and very daring in terms of merging 2D and 3D elements. A simply excellent image in every respect.

This is absolutely wonderful work and as Jason said, I've loved seeing your progression (though I thought your first ones were great too).

Ditto, ditto. What program are you doing your post in, this appears to be Painter, yes? If just an image editing program like photoshop then...oh, my.

Although I rarely comment on your work, I've watched your progression as well and I feel this is your best work to date. You should be proud. Well done.

Just wanted to say thanks to you all for your lovely comments - I'm absolutely over the moon that you like this! The postwork was done in Photoshop, with a Wacom tablet (how I lived without one, I'll never know!). Also, I'd like to give credit to andymoraitis for his encouragement and advice, and a huge thank you to DrmzRmyne for her hair brushes - I couldn't have done anything like this without the help of you two. If I thank any more people, this'll start to sound like I've won an Oscar or something ;), so please don't be offended if I haven't mentioned you!

my first thought was: "this reminds me of art"...i.e. the kind of art one sees in paintings by the old masters. my second thought was: this IS art. her expression, body language, coloring, and, yes, clothing speak volumes. just excellent.
