Description

Modeled and rendered in LightWave. Textures were created in Photoshop. Many thanks to berkeys for allowing me to make use of his awesome billiards table for this render. Still have a substantial amount of modeling to do, plus the lighting here could be improved immensely. Just got excited about things, so I needed to post it up. We hope to be able to get the entire bar converted and Poser ready very soon. It is taking a bit of time, because we're not really sure what we're doing. As always, your input and your suggestions are most welcome. Thank you very much for taking the time to view.

OK this is great, well done man, keep us posted. Only thing I dont like are the "legs" off the pooltables, they look not right, guess they need to be more rounded. This looks like an easy sollution. It's good this way, but I guess the rounded ones are better.

Thanks, thomas! :o)

wozz the billiards table is based on an actual table, so there's really not much berkeys can do to make it any more right.

illicit can everyone's favorite ret-monk please give me access to a dartboard so I can stick it up on the wall. I still have to ask permission from TwiztidKidd if we can use some of his renders as pin-up art for the bar.

berkeys how would you play this table... 9-ball?

If it's a sports bar, probably some sports paraphenelia and TV's (lots of TV's) with different sporting events on the screen...Some neon stuff too would be good. Still though, it's looking great. Love the staircase and the bar itself. Good work on the pool table (for berkeys)...

Nos thanks for the offer, but illicit already has a terrific dartboard... he just hasn't sent it over (but then again, I haven't sent him the bar either).

ShadowWind Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about the TV's. :o) Am planning to hang a large flat screen floating on a wall at the mezzanine level, so that patrons on both levels can watch the game.

Django We serve a special V8 cocktail just for you.

Fillingim My copy of the book still hasn't arrived in the mail. :o(

lrf I'd be happy to help you out on polygonal stuff like this, just don't ask me about [shudder] organics.

caleb68 Still working on it, but this one takes priority right now. :o)

Teyon Actually we do have a vodka-jello pool in the VIP room. :o) Bring your own straws.

ElorOnceDark Thanks, chief. We still have a foozball table and a pinball machine that are being completed for this scene. :o)

berkeys :o) That's exactly how I would have played it, sir. Although you might have a much better chance of making the shots. Next WIP I'll post a more difficult pool problem for you. :o)

I have to change the layout of the entire bar... I need to hang some lights over the pool tables and I don't want to have to suspend them over a void, so I'm going to rework the whole space to have the tables going under the mezzanine space. :o(

Hey Moe. I like the idea of placing the pool tables under the mezzanine space. Will you place this bar on the top space?

I must agree with Illicit (however painful that is to do) the balls are a bit on the bloated side. Remember, the opening of the corner pocket is 6in and the diameter of the balls should be approx 2 and 5/8, varies slightly with manufacturer. So two balls will fit into a pocket side by side with room to spare. Another guide is the cushions they should be just over half the diameter of the balls (this is so they dont fly off the table killing the guy playing foosball). Hey, are the lights gonna be the three in a row brass type or the ever popular pyramid shaped, beer advertising or stained glass type? I better stop before i need to add a second chapter, in conclusion, your balls are bloated. nuff said!

berkeys And the moral of the story is to build all your stuff to scale. The table sent to me was about 328.46% normal size and who knows how big those balls were at first. I will make the necessary adjustments as instructed. Besides... what's wrong with having big balls? :oP

Excellent work, Master Moe! As usual, your pic rocks. Wish I could help too, like the other people, but Laha's got much to learn yet, so I doubt I'll be of any use :(. But, what I can do is say "Go, Moe, go!" I'll be watching the development of your bar with great interest. Cool stair-case! Very chique. ;)
