Description
Ultrafractal 3.02 - Columns and skulls by Apophysis-1 - 110 layers, ouch! ;>)
Deep in the bowels of the earth beneath Orthanc, citadel of Saruman the White, lies the maze of passageways wherein lies the Chamber of the Seeing Stone containing the Eye of Orthanc. Of old, the elven Eldar of Valinor had bequeathed to the race of Men numerous "seeing stones" with which they might have contact in their vigil against the evil Morgoth in his fortress, Barad-dur. From the glow eminating from the chamber it seems that, once again, Saruman is gazing into the stone and falling ever deeper in thrall to Sauron, the Eye of Mordor...

Wow, this is amazing! After seeing this quality and estimating the amount of time to put together 110 layers, I think I'm going to stop making fractals because I'll never even get close to this. Excellent work!

...sorry for my "short comment"...just wasn't in the mood the other nite...and ever since then I felt that I need to "splain more"...and now am. Fist of all, me being "a Bryce weenie"--and doing a lot of "3D work"--not only in Bryce but XD as well...I must say that this is probably the best "3D effort" I've ever seen anyone produce with UF--and rivals what I've seen others and even myself do in ANY "3D app"!!!!!...and while I understand the basics of UF, technically, this piece simply boggles my mind...some SERIOUS "work ethic" going on here! Congratulations Rick...most impressive!!!! This image also get my "image vote"...which I think I've done only once before ;-)

Agree with all the above... and really like the "caustics" in the upper atmosphere. Another nice one. Bravo.
