After all this time, and through all the planes I have traveled, I can say I receive no greater fulfillment than to sense the coming of Apos over the deserts of my home, the Holy Symballan Empire. In New Phoenix, as a child studying under the Sisters of Isis, I would steal away and watch the sun rise over the minarets and pyramids of that great city. The light glistening off the copper dome of the imperial palace in the still, clear, cool morning air, scented with jasmine and river lilies,... I had almost forgotten how peaceful, how magical my world had been. And all I could think of then was how soon I could get away from the cloister and the books and join my sister on one of her adventures.

But the light of Apos began to play in the east a few minutes ago and I have began the task of opening the SunGate. To my surprise, its power yielded to me immediately and the flood of light that bathed the oasis was as clear as though desert mornings I remembered from so long ago. I will keep it open as my new team gets ready. I and Remethus will be last to go through. We must find the secrets buried in the Tomb of Harrad
