Description

Well, I found out that our school has a wacom tablet (a big one, we're talking 12x12 I think) and when I had some free time, I had to try it. I copied my image and brought it over for some major overpainting. (this was painted over my previous image -the fear) I really did enjoy working with the tablet, wish I could afford one. I first set up a small grouping of colors I'd be using (via sampling with the dropper) and went to town. Various smudge brushes were used to initially 'paint up' the image. This gave it a nice non-crisp look. I then added details with the various colors I had saved. I tried employing various 'brush' strokes to give it an 'accurate' texture. After I had finished with the brushing I added a canvas overlay in photoshop, feathered the edges, text-ed it up and called it art. Well, I had fun anyway. Hope you enjoy. As always, I appreciate any comments you can afford: be brutal.

Very cool. Man I would love to get a tablet too. In my near future. I do like the change from the original. You did well on the post painting.

Wow, this is great. Nice image to start, nice transforms (real skill) lead to a predictably nice result, eh? Extra credit for working under the pressure [I hope you get a tablet, the 6x8 is fine for me and ~ $250 I think, and 6x6 is ~ $100. One of the best investments ever! Took some practice but after many hours they begin to feel much more natural. Now I couldn't live without it, it's like an arm or a leg! With Painter, I can sometimes feel it's really airbrush, oil paint or pencil, etc.. and the mouse seems now so inferior. But for menus, etc, I still prefer a mouse! Go figure!]
