WOW, wonderful indeed, my vote. Also I like very much the stages that you offered us. I like the "tedesco" Richard Wagner and your image which is fantastic. Bravo!

Hm... let's see... what we can see here... Very nice and quite big.....MUTUAL ADMIRATION SOCIETY! I don't understand it. If it's a masterpiece, what is a kitch? This work is like a kid's drawing. PEOPLE - PLESE OPEN YOUR EYES OR DON'T LIE TO GALLIMEL. I travel through galleries. I saw so outstanding, unique, beautiful works... I CAN SEE HERE SICK RULES: COMMENT FOR COMMENT - EVEN IF WORK IS UGLY OR IS SIMPLY KITCH. PLEASE DON'T HURT GALLIMEL. PLEASE WRITE ONLY TRUTH IN YOUR COMMENTS... PLEASE...

I agree with "s-traveller2003". Only I wouldn't use as many capitals to say it ;]. However I would not consider this to be a kids drawing, especially sigurd's back and arms. They are quite anatomically correct even with the thick and rough lines. The pose is pretty neat and life like, I guess this is kinda how I would sneak up to a dragon.

The boy's figure is very nice, the dragon kind of reminds me of JoAnn Worely though... my only suggestion would be to make a bit more deliniation between your subject and the trees. Very nice composition.

What can I say about it? :) An excellent subject first of all, of course. And how you portray it is wonderful. I really love it. It gives the feeling of the forest and the dangers and the light you still can find in it. Sometimes I hate this country for all its trees..but sometimes, as when I see your drawing here it makes me feel so great to be able to live in a country that is so close to nature in all its senses. :) You can just walk around in a forest here and you can literally feel the sagas and the past and how they errupted from the deep of forests and feelings. I love it.. ;) That Wagner took this story makes perfect sense too and it's great he made it so well known, more than for 'just' the people reading Eddan. But I agree with you, nothing beats the real saga :) We have a runstone here in the south which is actually portraying the slaying of the dragon. It's on a very big cliff/stonehill. Made by the wife of a killed viking actually. :) Anyway, I'm rambling..all I want to say is that I am really happy that you chose this saga and thank you for the dedication honey :) I love seeing 'my' history come to life in your drawings from time to time :) You always do it so fantastically!

spot on Joao!! thanx for telling me the name again of the pieceNow I can write it above in the notes to the piece). I saw a mute movie before watchin Opera last week, and of course it was just an image of memoryso of course it was hard to replicate it well. from there the inaccurate-ness I guess... but if you reckoned it from here, then it means my memory keeps being okay visually and that after all I didn't were that far away from my intentions in makin it.thanx :) Now I am quite happy with this. Thanx to Meyrink for writing me some advices technically about mistakes of chiaroscuro here,in IM, and to syndroid.I'll try to make the last piece in pencil for the theme better using pencil 4b then :)

Meli, I hope no one has sent s-traveller2003 any hate mail, because I'm sure you will be agreeing with a lot of what he said. Rik refined his words to a point I would agree with, as this work of yours is way beyond a mere "kid's drawing", but still... as nice a drawing as it is, it doesn't deserve the kind of almost religious fervour that some people praise you with. It shows a quite decent understanding of chiaroscuro, but really, words like "awesome" that spill so readily from the mouths of some people do you no favours, particularly when you are always begging people for real criticism.
Guys (and I'm speaking as one of Meli's closest friends)... she's a big girl, an adult... yeah, we all want to give back some of the lovely support she gives us, but believe me she'll appreciate it a whole lot more if that support entails constructive criticism, so she can learn and grow in her skills. Very few do this. Just saying "awesome" is nice, but it's not helping her. Meli does not subscribe to "comment for comment" syndrome, and an ocean of blind praise can risk making those who don't know her think that she does, which could ultimately result in her becoming a target for bad feeling from anyone who might suspect she's just a "social climber" here. And of course she's anything but that.
It hasn't been my intention to offend anyone (any more than that was s-traveller2003's intention), I adore Meli as much as anyone... but she joined Renderosity to learn and improve her skills, and it seems almost no one suggests anything to guide her, perhaps for fear of retribution ;-)

very unlikely from me (I hate that so the numbers of comments increase.. I find always absurd to see the way ome answers to any one who posts comemnts just to increase the number of them...which is why I neevr answer under comments here) I have to say a big THANX to Synapse. he says what I would have loved to. and I really hope for real no one has sent traveler-s hate mails cos what he/she said is correct. (Dunno the gender, cos he/she has no gallery no images to show, and so no artist page either, but that doesn't erase anything of the good criticism wrote in the message). Jim knows me and knows all I want is to learn. I can't do "awesome" in chiaroscuro, being this my second piece ever with it so please dears.. when you feel there's something in your eyes I could make better.. write it to me freely. That's what I need and search. I don't comemnt to receive comments and I never almost rate anything. The social bargaing hereyou know, it's not my stuff and so don't be afraid to tell me where can get better.. cos there is LOT for me to learn. :) Thanx Jim, Ri, and everyone else here trying to help me in improving :)Thanx to all those who are sincere with me and who knows I trust truth more than anything else. Hugs :)

one thing that might be forgotten is that some people do not have the ability of gallimel, or can't do what is refered to " a kids drawing" so they are natualry in awe, i haven't known gallimel long, i've seen some of her work, not all of it, so i'm still being surprised by her talent in many areas. i like this piece, i haven't seen the picture it's taken from but i like ur drawing style, neat and percise(unlinke mine lol, i attack the page). true though it's not you best piece but i'm not here to judge, i'm here to be part of a comunity and get inspired back to drawing, to which i thank gallimel, every drawing carries it's own delights...hmm i think i've done it again..i'm rambling...well sorry for the ramble i do get carried away trying to write what i mean but i go around in cirles... i like the way u did sigurd. ste, forever rambling

I love it, I saw the movie, I read the book and had my own interpretation of it, but even my mind, could not do such wonderful pictures like you do with your hands. It's really one of my favorites! Corven
