... at the Christmas market!
Nowadays we have 5 Christmas markets in downtown Hamburg and probably many more within the whole city. When I was a child (let's say about 25 years ago) that was different:
There was only one Christmas market around the "St. Petri" Church and every year my parents and I went there on one Sunday before Christmas. All the shops were closed, so there were no people hurrying around trying to find a bargain - only those who wanted to enjoy the market just like us. My dad always bought a "Thueringer Bratwurst" at his favourite stand, my mom bought some sweets and I just couldn't wait until we got to this place - the merry-go-round. It was my highlight of the day to climb onto one of those horses and take a ride.
I guess no matter how old I get, I will always remember those Sundays when I see "my" merry-go-round which is still the same at THE Christmas market...
