Description
This image is bought to you today by one owl that took up residence on the tree outside my window. And then proceeded to try and keep me awake.
I was curious about the species so I did a search to see if I could find it when I stumbled unto this totally awesome image. Arent they just precious??? They were so cute I had to draw them. Would have been grand to draw the one outside my window but he did a disappearance act by sunrise.
Just Pencils and paper. And about 3 days work.
ENJOY!!! ^_^

Oooh Jimmi, I love this! I adore owls, we have many in our ranch and the summer time I'm usualy sitting out under the big kiosk and in the silent of the night I see suddenly near me 2 big bright eyes looking at me and I try not move to not scare them and fly away... lol You did a wonderful work with them, they look so real!!

So if it wasn't already enough that you were just diving in to drawing the human form, now you have to draw animals. I think you just did awesome here, Jimmi, and this may seem odd to you but the texturing in the wall is also just incredible. The owls are great too, and I would suggest, in order to get the sense of feathers and "fluffiness" (for lack of a better word), start by blocking in your values, then build up in more detail, layer upon layer, and the forms will reveal themselves rather than you having to draw them in always with the lines (which is fine, if that's your preference too). :O))

This is really wonderful, the owls are are so well drawn and then the wood texture in the background looks great too.
