Description
The monologue of an unloved child.
Amy dials her father's number again. It's been three weeks now, but he never returns her calls. She can't understand why.
Finally, he answers.
"Dad, it's me. It's Amy."
...
"Did you get my messages? I've been ringing like for weeks."
...
"Oh. Okay." Tears well in her eyes, but she fights them back. "Well, how are you?"
...
"Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to...dad, I didn't mean to pry. I was just asking. I haven't seen you in..."
...
"No! I'm not trying to give you a guilt trip. It's just that I miss you."
[Silence.]
"Dad..." She bites her lip, afraid to go on, but unable to stop. "Do you miss me too?"
...
"Well...can I come and see you?"
...
"But dad, why?"
...
"What do you mean? I don't understand, please just tell me what you mean."
...
"I didn't. No! Dad, I'd never do that."
...
"Dad. Dad! Please! Can't I just come and see you? Tomorrow?"
...
"Well how about Friday?"
...
"Next week? Dad, anytime, please?"
...
"Please?"
She starts to sob uncontrollably. A key rattles in the front door.
"Dad, why? Dad, WHY? Ohhh dad, pleeease, WHYYY?"
Amy's mother walks into the room. Dark anger rolls down her face like a storm cloud when she sees the telephone in Amy's hand. The stench of alcohol fills the air. "Who are you talking to, Amy? WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO???"
She rips the phone from Amy's hand and hurls it blindly at the kitchen window. The glass shatters, the harsh violent crash foreshadowing the events about to unfold...

Very sad story here. Seems the young lady is in a terrible place in her life. Hope she has enough inner strength to get her through. I really think she needs a friend. You betrayed the feelings so well in your image.

Remarkably good expression. I didn't know any SW could allow this degree of expression. Congratulations. (You show a gift for vivid creative writing. Have you considered doing more?)
