As luck would have it, SGL 2 would have women for its first four members. After Ferin, Sin, and Cinder, Damien was looking for a few more warriors to bolster the group. What he found next more than filled the bill. After a quick trip back to Gryphonmyr to speak with Baron Harrahvius regarding supply shipments into the mountains, he had dropped by the old Hayes House to visit the remaining members of the Midnight Rose, a venture company he had once traveled with and one of the main reasons for the founding of the Silver Gryphon Legacy. Tia Gildenoak, a Sylvisan Ranger from Allindel, had returned from her travels in the south and they spent a long evening chatting about their latest adventures. Inevitably, his new position as leader of Syvasgaard came up and it was no surprise the Ellinscar had a suggestion. The next day, he brought around a young lady that he thought would be a good addition to the Legacy, the daughter of a prominent Gryphonmyr guildsman, Maevus Ketritch.

Damien knew where this was going, and his initial reaction was to put her off. After all, he already had enough spies and assassins working for him. He was till mulling over the addition of Cinder Summerville, a Houlfiar with less than sterling scruples, and the idea of adding yet another guild spy was not what he had in mind. But within a few moments of meeting her, his mind began to change. When he heard that her master was none other than Colonel Matthew Compton, the noted Weaponsmaster that had trained the Queen's own bodyguard, he decided to give her a chance. He would never regret his decision.

It seemed that her father, Jason Ketritch, had died a few years earlier under mysterious circumstances. Maive's mother had disappeared soon after that as well. Known to no one outside a select circle, Ketritch had gotten caught in the crossfire between the warring Vampire Clans. Maive had inherited all the family wealth, which she had immediately sunk into training and financing her vengeance on the creatures of the night. In that way, she was very much a kindred spirit to Damien. However, her path was that of the Weaponsmaster. She was as grim and determined as any Demonhunter, not driven by religious zeal, but by the constant call to hone her fighting skills. A very good choice indeed for the fourth member of SGL 2.
