Description

The Second and less successfull 'War of the Worlds' It is a well known scientific fact that humans have been attempting to contact alien life-forms for some time. Most of these were in the form of hydrogen based radio transmissions... However, these were simple encrypted messages and brought little meaning to any other intelligence. The first experience with inter planetary communication occured when the radio signal transmitting the practical joke 'war of the worlds' reached a passing by UFO. This specific transmission was found to be quite educational, and the word quickly spread through their society. Spider like creations were crafted under the influence of this new scheme for planetary domination. But as sci-fi goes, this did not work out quite as they had expected. A few thousand of these creations were then flown to the source of this pirated signal and the invasion commenced. One fact that these 'intelligent' creatures had forgotten to cover was the relative size differences... It turned out that the people of earth were in fact giants, as the ships touched down in North Carolina the locals immediately took up arms. Not 30 minutes later the invasion was squelched by some 20 red-necks with fly-swatters. Up untill this point it has only been passed down through stories told by the local bums who ride the rails in exchange for a good tale. However, not one week ago this photograph was found at a garage sale at an old farm house in Durham, NC. We believe it depicts one of the machines on a local window sill, no doubt taken by one of the stunned owners of the house. It all goes to show you that science fiction can never be followed as reality, just look where it can end up.
