I hope this is gonna go on your own site Cass, as it's among your best to date. Technically I wouldn't know how to crit this (I love the way the abstract details continue from foreground to background) and on an emotional level it hits in several places at once.
To me he's an angel who's forgotten he has wings, if indeed he ever knew, and so he bides his time in negativity... a new light is shining but he just isn't fully aware of it yet, or if he is aware then he just isn't quite sure how to look into it. He can't see the beauty around him because he's looking down and it's almost as if it doesn't occur to him to look around. He's caught in a mindset and can in fact get up and leave at any moment, fly even, but he's so accustomed to thinking he can't, he literally believes it. Just noticed something else, his wings are outstretched and ready, as if subconsciously he already knows the potential, but the rest of him hasn't "caught up" yet.
This captures so much of the kind of thing we've discussed so much, and will continue to discuss. It's beautiful; and sad but not without hope at all. You've impressed me again sweetie hugest hugs, thank you so much for sharing your art, and just being you xxx :-)

Love your painting Cassie and love Jims interpretation of it, I must agree it could so easily represent how people waste their lives when they have the power to make so much of them. Thank you both for making me think beyond the image. :0 )

This is so powerful Cassie! What this conveys to me is a feeling of temporary hopelessness. It is as if this angel is on the verge of giving up the fight, on the very edge of giving up on us altogether. It makes me think this angel has spent an eternity in selfless servitude making things right without ever a chance to be recognized for the efforts... slapped in the face for them in fact. It looks like the weight of the world has finally become too much of a burden. Simply stunning as always my friend. Your talent is awe inspiring.

Everyone is right, this piece is very beautiful. It begs to be looked at for hours and hours and makes me long to be the person to lift the angel's chin, smile and say thank you for all the joys he has given. He looks so hopeless it near breaks my heart. Thank you Cassie, for sharing this with us all, it's a wonderful piece or art.

The only thing that hasn't been said yet is 'pants'. Namely, why isn't he wearing any in such inclement weather? No wonder he's depressed.

This is beautiful. I love the concept, and the angel himself and setting are wonderfully done.
