To quote Kazzy's comment on my last image of this series 'her raised hand seems to be gesturing for us to move on and bear witness somehow'. Her gaze followed the noise of windchimes, and, early one, I was met by the only grave that made me feel sad. The girl burried here was only 9 and her grave was covered in toys. The flashes of colour and sound around the grey graves were...stark.
Thank you for looking...I promise things are much happier and peaceful after this shot. Next we'll be moving deeper into the cemetery...you'll begin to get a sense of just how huge it is.
Hoping that you're all well and that your weekend is a good one.
(PS...this is my 100th post...woohooo!)

This shot has an amazing conceptual strength and sadness. If only the tinkling sound of the chimes were ehoing her delight with her shiny, sweet toys....

Touching. Quite an emotional image. I think any child's grave is sad. Makes me stop and think how lucky we are.

this is very strange and emotional. Well captured, just wish it was larger in size. Excellent shot

Very beautiful and emotional.... the colors resonate against the stark grey of the angel sculpture.

Such a juxtaposing image. I am saddened by this too, but happy at the same time... maybe I'm seeing this through the eyes of the child... I'm sure she would be elated with all the colourful toys and chimes... but it is left for the tiny angel to witness, which is where the dychotomy lies. Brilliant image - very emotional and beautiful!

Excellent photograph. The contrast, incongrous in its extreme makes for an exellent reminder of the fact that there are too many children in graveyards.

Simply wonderful close-up!

First I thought how strange this is...windchimes at a cemetery. But after reading your words I'm deeply touched! Emotional and beautiful image, Stephen!

im touched... no more words... just the wind making windchimes ring and silence all over..

Maybe spirits are talking with us via windbells? Excellent shot. What else to say :)

Sad to see one gathered up so young... the wind blowing the occasional music of where she once laughed and played in someone's memory.

Sad story's are a part of all story's. There are worst places to show that story then on a Londen graveyard. Youre view on it is exciting, I happy to follow you, as if I was walking there :)) Yeah, go on. I love story telling photography.

i see windchimes in cemetaries all the time. Apprently they are put there as a form of protection, so keep bad spirits away and to protect innocent souls. its so sad when a child dies.... emotional image

sigh... I can't imagine how horrible it must be to lose a child... I can't even think about it. Why did you pick this one to be your 100th post? Was it an accident or is it because you're a Guardian? feeble smile
