Strength
Anyone who knows my general work knows how much I love details. God is in the details, they always say, and although I was without my beloved macro lens, I did get a few slightly more detailed shots. This is one of them...a study of the textures of this cross. It stood tall and straight...almost proud. But it was devoid of that emotion...it was more...complete and utter strength...and the harmony that comes from that.
It might well be silly, but I felt I was able to share in some of that strength. Had I had the time I would have stopped and sat by the cross for a while...studied it properly....but as it is, all I have is the photo...and it feels a shame to have such a worthless interpretation of the feelings the stone produced. Especially when I could do with a bit of that strength today.
Regardless, I hope that you enjoy this shot and pick up on some of these feelings. Tomorrow we move on to another grave...even more detail...
Thanks for viewing.

I find this image stark and unsettling..taking me too close to somewhere...odd, lonely feelings.

i really hope that that streght you got from there, will be with you.. i feel like ive been standing right there next to you, but as an air, as a breath... sensitive image and your words... never worthless. thank you Stephen for those feelings...

Even though it is a photo, it's not a worthless interpretation, as you say... Far from it.. The strenght is present, it is there...you can feel it, see it, breathe it... It is strong, but gentle, it is there... You have captured it with no violence but love, that's how the strenght will always be there...and with us...

Your words are so very true. God is in the details. We are expressions of God, creations of God and therefore anything created in this world reflects God. Very emotional work...

The creature's weakness is the opportunity for the Creator to show strength. Like a father lifts a small sickly child. The cross as a symbol of both suffering and God's resurrection power, raises our faith in the face of death like a touchstone. When I am weak he is strong. His strength will carry me on that day. A message for graveyard walkers.

This seria have a special mood. Not sad, not creepy, I don't know it's full of life, is so intense. Full of energy. It's beautiful, love the details of every single one.

I'm not sure yet what I think about this image... I am inclined to agree with you that it shows such strength... yet I also agree with Kazzy, that this shot is quite unsettling... I need to look at it more, when I'm not so antsy, when I can focus on one thing at a time... I'll send you a note when I come to my senses!

There is strength in this simple form. I wish you lots and lots of strength, kiddo. hugs
