Description

Canon 10D + Sigma 28-300mm Hyperzoom (at 58mm) ISO 400 f4.5 1/750 This was quite a green shot, but I wanted to bring out the detail of the carving in this intricate and beautiful stone. I played with the contrast...thought about turning it B&W...and very nearly did. However, I liked the colder colours in this, so simply desaturated the green and yellow tones before generally desaturating it all a bit. I think this is how I will always think of this stone...the cold but bright sun streaming down onto the eternal bird covering the grave in nature. I find the twigs and grass sparkling in the light magical. Although I didn't like this when I first looked at it, it is now one of my favourite shots of the series...and I hope very much you enjoy it. Thank you for coming with me this far. Believe it or not I still have two weeks worth of images left to come in this series...and tomorrow I am very excited to be able to show you the first of one of the most beautiful angels in the cemetery. I hope you all have a very good weekend.

Ok, this one I can definitely say that I love. Everything sparkling around this one tomb is astounding, and I love what you've done with the desaturation... makes it feel like early morning with dew on the grass. This is my favourite of the series so far, and I'm sure you have a few more surprises up your sleeve. Hope you're having a better day than you apparently were yesterday...

This one should be on the advertising brochure for the graveyard. LOL. Not my cup of tea, but nice colour tweak.

you're right, desaturate at 70/90% is great because colors are then just touch of color. Excellent !
