Description
I don't know where I am. I seem to be surrounded by a mist. I don't feel like I'm really here.
It started 3 years ago.
We had supper and were watching TV when the door bell rang.
The Wife got up to answer the door.
5 minutes later I got up to see what was going on.
The door was ajar, but no wife and nobody else there.
I walked outside and around the house, nobody was there.
I didn't hear a car drive away, so where the heck could they be? I say "they" because somebody had to ring the doorbell.
I sat back down figuring the wife would show up sooner or later.
By 10 O:clock I was starting to wonder a little.
Maybe it was one of her friends and she took off with them, but why leave the door open?
Could be one of her friends got hurt and she left in a hurry.
By Midnight I called the cops. They came over and checked out the place and got my story.
Then the questions started:
How were you getting along? Any problems, How much life insurance did you have on the DK? etc.
The Cops said if she didn't show up by tomorrow to call them again..
Oh Oh, could this lead to trouble for me??
I called her friends and the hospital. no one had seen her.
I called the cops and told them the details again.
4 days later they came, uninvited, and arrested me for murder.
They questioned me for hrs, they didn't believe me at all.
Hell if I was going to get rid of the wife a divorce may cost more but you don't go to jail for that.
All through the trail my Lawyer pointed out that there was no body, no crime scene, no weapon and no motive. I just knew I would be found innocent, no crime had be committed.
Well I guess I was wrong about that.. I was not only found guilty, I got the death penalty..
Sometimes justice is swift, sometimes it's slow, guess what it was in my case?
All my appeals were shot down Fast.
Serial killers get more breaks than I did and I was only accused of killing one person..
Now I have 3 weeks to live.
Now I was going to panic, just a little..
I just didn't understand what the hell had happened. I didn't kill her. There was no body, no crime scene etc. What the hell happened?
They strapped me into the chair. Put the gag over my mouth. Got the bucket ready and slid it under the chair. The air tight door was closed. 5 minutes before they dropped those green little pills into the bucket. Midnight was coming fast.
I looked out at the gallery to see who was seeing me off. A couple of reporters, a few cops and some people I didn't know.
1 minute to go and 2 people walked into the observation room. A guy I didn't know and a women. The women took off her scarf. Shit thats my wife.. I yell and scream "It's Her" "don't drop the pills" They can't hear me. They don't pay any attention. They think I am panicking, and they are right I am but not for the reason they think. I can't even point. It's midnight and I hear the pills drop into the bucket. She is smiling at me and the man puts his arms around her.
The gas comes up around me.
One of the reporters sense's that something is wrong. He seems to know I am trying to
point at someone. I see him look around. the gas burns my thoart, it fills my lungs.
