I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

Superb!
JPSoft
I like your sky and the terrain is very interesting. I don't like the foreground.

Navajo Land is very spirt ridden, peaceful and serene. You can find alot here with little or no effort. This is the place to have a dream or vision.. The POV is interesting as you went against the grain of PC for artists. I like it because it is different than what you see in everyday renders.

Oh yes, I like it too! Wonderful composition - a truly inspiring work!

Agree with JPSoft about dark foreground. Terrain and colors are beautiful. I would like to see this landscape with an other POV.
Markal
This is an excellent image...the strata is exceptional. You have developed a style...most of your images have turquoise green or aqua green overtones, especially in the sky. It is a lovely style. I have no style, no class, :( ...yet!

A very true observation my friend. Those sacred lands reflect the spirit of the "Great Creator"! The indigenous people who live there have known this for millennia. Others are just now beginning to discover it as well.Your renderings are fantastic as they retain the beauty of that sacred spirit. Thanks for sharing them with us!.

Its stunning Bob beautiful scene and if people can not see past the strata to see the beautiful scenic view to bad least your not using others work or fake stuff. it is totally beautiful such a panoramic view v and bravo for the creator.

Very much a "Christianfly-ish" image, if you'll take that as a compliment. Great POV & strata work, too! (I kinda like dark foregrounds, so there!)

I love POV's like this, takes me back 25 years. To when I was in Oregon walking the ridge lines.

Excellent Surface, terrain and pov ! Excellent work !!!!!

beautifully rendered terrain and the compositional device of 'framing' a well-lit central image with shaded foreground goes as far back as Watteau (to my knowledge), its nice to see it used in CG - the shaded strata is perfectly integrated, what I think JP and peten were referring to is the vegetation that stands out darker against the shade, greens tend to do this in Terragen - and don't think I didn't notice or like the reflection on the water, almost an afterthought that accents the composition perfectly - excellent work, Bob
