Description

Not sure why no one has done this combo yet...Artmatic Voyager and Groboto. Seems like a natural. I just started using Groboto again, it's not OS X yet but I hope soon. My studio machine is the only one fast enough to run it under classic. It's a lot of fun. I have another in this series I may post tomorrow. Thanks for viewing. Artmatic Voyager 1.1.2, Groboto 1.6b, PS 7

I'm wondering what grotobo is, but the fact is that this work is really impressive

I really like GroBoto, and I'm looking forward to the OSX version that is supposed to be coming out soon. I assume that you dropped this in in Photoshop, but the lighting and shadows are a perfect match. Excellent render!

Yes I rendered the urchin in GROBOVISION and composited in PS. Grobovision has 3 lights so I used 2 fill and one to simulate the sun source. I hope the OS X version comes out soon but they have been saying that for quite awhile. I know their team is only Darrel Anderson and Brad (both superb artists) but it seems it could be quicker. I know they are porting it to XP at the same time so that might be taking longer. Thanks for the nice comments.

Nice combo! Yeah I can't wait until groboto works for OSX! You could also create a creature like this in artmatic with a compiled tree and iteration, but getting it to your location is the tough part. There are some good tuts in the AM manual for compiled trees - right now they are the only way to get a 3d object into an AMV scene. You did an excellent job of matching color and shade with your composite - Scott : )

Everything is nice in this picture. The low level mist adds a lot, and your urchin looks great.
