Description

ETHEREAL SUMMERS AGO, AGO If lunacies have sunlight for their unblinded eyes, they live insistent here; it is darkness that is not dark. You are dark. The darkness shines but, instead, you are only dark. The light in every skull knows you are dark. In darkness you make light of it. The image here? I would not deny such perfect sanity. You, companion, take the world for threads of play to be woven in the making from your hand. It is an ethereal summer when you rest ethereal, like imagination seen, kicking up some diamond fuss in a sparkling maze of diamond seeds, caressing around corners like vision, like a breeze. (c) 2004, James Strecker The poem is by Canadian poet and writer James Strecker. He wrote this specifically for the image and he has been a great souce of encouragement, as well as a true friend. I have sent him more fractals over the last year that I am sure he can cover every wall in his house with them by now. I know there have been occasions he has had to really try hard to come up with the right word to not offend after receiving an email asking "What do you think of this one??" Thanks Jim ... for hanging in there. If anything would have destroyed our friendship it would have been these fractals that keep appearing in your in-box. And my not handling criticism very well. Still can't, but I'm working on it. :) Thank you for viewing. Pat

Beautiful work, the poem and picture fit together perfectly. I love the elegance and classy look of the image, the orange flowers are gorgeous especially on the B&W background. Wonderful fractal!

The poem is thought-provoking and cuts to the quick. I love your image. The warm and cold combination of color makes for a striking contrast. Great design and personal expression.

sometimes the eyes move around within an image and thus live some part of their reality in it; and sometimes the image consumes the mind as the mind's only reality, in a kind of aeshetic hypnosis, one might say; but in this fractal no issue of separateness, of this and that, of perception and perceived arises. such elegant complexity surprisingly creates a resonant simplicity that, yes, makes time hold its breath

What a marvellous combination of good solid structure and, yes, aethereal fractal complexity. Here is a sound architectural base providing a safe take-off point for a filigree dream of decorative exuberance. The focus is constantly in motion but subtlely confined and controlled in a thoroughly satisfying composition. Poem [an excellent read btw] and image work beautifully in tandem. Bravo to both, but mostly to you!

I like the composition and the limited colors, and the texture adding an extra touch. I like the poem, too.
