Description

The evening grows quiet As the day nears dusk Birds hush their singing To roost they will soon rush~ Men in a hurry Their work day is done Rush homeward to rest From their day in the sun~ Cattle have been grazing Since sunup this morn Now laying down peaceful Young waiting to be born~ The flowrs are reaching Their petals so new For the coolness of night To touch morning's dew~ Hummingbirds fly swiftly To flowers they seek The last day of nectar Still on their beak~ The sunsets e're so lovely As it bows goodnight Twilights curtain is falling As day wanes in delight~ A whippoorwill in distance Greets the coming of night with song His play is just beginning All night Until dawn~

A gentle and tender interpretation of day's end ... and a time of transitions, summaries and evaluations. Lovely.

I'm a summer early riser because I want to earn the favorite mornings... but I miss the evenings you beautifully describe as well and will have to shift sleep patterns to accomodate. I can't win.. Keep reminding me.
