Description

Hi everyone! I am so sorry for my long absence these past few weeks. I have been so busy and I have spent most of my free time on this Portrait of my brother's family. Approximately 3 1/2 weeks ago my brother called to tell me he was going to Spain with his wife and would be gone for 3 weeks. He wasn't going to tell me, but felt he needed to be honest, about the almost certain diagnosis of Leukemia he had just received from his doctors. Almost certain, because all the tests they had run so far were leading strongly towards Leukemia, but the one definitive test, the bone marrow biopsy, could not be performed until he gets back from Spain. I was in shock to say the least. Obviously, we are praying they are wrong, but I know that the doctors would not just throw out that or any other diagnosis of Cancer lightly. The stress of worrying about him and his family has kept me up many nights since then and has affected my health adversely. I had already lost my Mother years ago. She was the glue that kept our family together and after she died, my brother became that connection for me. Anyway, when I was feeling up to it, I spent my free time working on this family portrait. My therapy, I guess. I would plead and thank you even now for your prayers for him and his family. God Bless you all!...Cheryl ...The Details...the portrait was composed of 4 individual portraits. Unfortunately, I did not have very good photos to work from...at least 2 of them were very dark as they were standing outside in the sun. Each portrait was done in pencil sketch first. The outlines of each sketch were brought into PSP8 and then I worked on digitally painting them. The frame, slight soft focus, background and gold roses were also done in PSP8. Have a great day!...Cheryl

Cheryl, you know my prayers are with you, and I can only imagine how you must feel, but what I can see clearly is the love that went into this. My dear friend this is so Bueatiful, and done with the upmost compassion and feeling. I sincerly hope that the prayers are answered, and all the dark clouds in your life clear, and you are allowed once again to walk in the sunlight , and enjoy your family which I know are so dear to you.......Sincerly John (Qmont)

This is sad news indeed Cheryl... I am hoping that the news will be better than expected. This portrait is well worth the effort that you put into it! There is so much character and expression found in this, I hope that when you see this image you are reminded of what all of that effort meant to you... and I hope that you can draw positive strength from it. Hugest hugs dear friend.
