Heading north out of Viridia, Danai, her sister, and her new lover skirted the mountains, avoiding the deep forests of Cantellzan, but finding themselves constantly hounded by Ogres and Duergar raiders in Centeyea. Along the way, they uncovered an ancient Atheaen tablet in a Mountain Giant's lair that told of the fall of a Temple of great riches. The dates and names coincided with what Deurrine had learned in her years of training in the secrets of the Atheaen church. The abandoned temple had never been found, and only a few in the church hierarchy and in the mysterious lost libraries beneath Raidon even knew of its existence. They would be the first to reclaim it, the one's to tap its wealth. But realizing that just the three of them would not have the magic or training to unlock its power, they came down out of the mountains and frequented the inns and lodges along the mountain roads, just at the borders of Cantellzan and Atheae. There they found a golden haired sorceress that not only fit Danai's needs, but who also lived up to the standards she was beginning to establish for members of her troop; knock out good looks, competence, and a disdain for men.

Tylyra Ydrygam was the unlikely off-spring of a Delsian male, gone north before the War of the Wolf Hordes many years ago, and a Hergovite shield maiden. Tylyra's mother died at Paleurevalla when Blackwolf's armies swept through and burned everything in their path. She wandered for a time, a child lost in the wilderness, but was rescued by a dark figure who terrified her completely. For years she didn't know whether she was an apprentice, a prisoner, or a sacrifice. She learned painful lessons, and her father's magical blood gave her the edge she needed to survive the torturous infusion of necromancy. After thirty years, she learned that the cruel man she knew only as "Master" was actually a survivor from the Wolf Hordes. One of the very monsters that had killed her family and destroyed her life had come into her squalid bed chamber to steal her womanhood. She suffered in silence and when the timing was right, she buried a spear in her Master's chest, and used the very necromantic skills he had taught her to destroy his life force. She escaped to find herself in Xanthius, the Equideyean city sitting on the cliffs of the border with the Symballan Empire. She took the wealth she had stolen from her Master and headed south, not knowing what she was looking for or why she was going.

When Tylyra met Danai and her two companions, she was drawn to the human seductress. Still unsure where she was going or what plans she might have for her life, she was swayed by Danai's idea to forge her own fate, without relying on men for any part of her happiness. Her magic was still developing, and she was struck with the desire to see how far she could take her morose interests. When they entered the ruins of the Temple of the Seer at Pellea, it was her spells that captured and bound the restless spirits to their will. She became the Necromancer of The Harpies.
