Description

There are some who speculate that this towering sculpture may have been partially eroded by the Great Flood of Genesis. It seems they think the erosion patterns are more consistant with vast volumes of water runoff than centuries of wind. I must admit that the theory is wonderfully thought provoking, but we may never know for sure. We don't even know how old it really is or who built it. It is also speculated that it originally was a complete Lion, head and all, but was later re-carved as it is now (thus the small head compared to the large body). That too has a delightful mystery to it. In the end, this fantastic work of architectural art simply lies in an arid home calling to us to hear the secrets that it never fully tells. Excellent work. Very interesting details you wrote down also, that is true, we may never truly know about this facsinating structure. It is one of the mysteries that may never be uncovered. Excellent composition here, great sky backdrop paired up with a superb sphynx model. Excellent!

I've heard of this theory also and if you believe in the whole flood thing, it is very possible and would explain why one of the son's of Noah stopped here. Nice image.

I agree with others who compliment your POV. Very dramatic, which perfectly compliments your sky photo. Another Great Job! By the way, if this were for a cover or illustration, all that black area at the bottom would be a perfect place for adding text.
